:wave:Hi everyone! wow it's been a while since I've posted here.. I'm planning to reply to some of the threads soon :)

There's something I keep on thinking about, and I think I really need some advice. I'm just kinda lost because I don't know much about this topic:confused:
In July, I'm planning on going to healing Mass again. After Mass, they have people come up to the front to be prayed over, and most people go... and some get 'slain in the Spirit'. I didn't go up last time, and I'm wondering if I should.. but there's one thing stopping me. I don't know if this is a valid concern. But as I'm not officially Catholic yet, I haven't yet been to Confession...and I have a couple serious sins on me that I really need to be cleansed of (really this is killing me, but I can't do anything about it right now..I can only talk to the priest about converting after July 14th). And I'm a little worried, if I go to be prayed over, and let's say something happens to me.. I dunno, like what if I get slain in the Spirit or something.. I'd wonder if that would be really from God, because - well my soul isn't free from mortal sin, so can't that potentially open doors to the enemy, for deception?? (NO IDEA) what if I get some "counterfeit" spiritual experience because I haven't been to confession yet? I just want to be safe..

See, I really dont know if that's something I should be concerned about!! What do you all think?

Am I just over-thinking?

Also...if you've ever been slain in the Spirit, how is that like? Are you still conscious, or ..what? lol.. I'm SO ignorant about this.

The first words as Pope from John Paul II were Totus Tuus. (Be not afraid).

I believe you may be able to go to confession now. Have you approached a priest about this and if not you really should to put your mind at ease?

Please don't avoid being prayed over and don't make any presumption on what might happen it means little if your struck or not. Above all be completely honest. If it doesn't happen that doesn't mean your not worthy and if it does that doesn't mean your absolved either.

Being prayed for is not the same as receiving the Eucharist and we are all worthy of prayer and are all called to pray. This may be just be what you need.

That said, so that you know, you will most likely be asked if you have any needs to be prayed for. I would recommend spending this time trying to discern what God wants most for you.

Don't be surprised though if it doesn't come to you though or maybe just before your prayed over and if still nothing your sure of comes just ask for whatever God knows is best for you and the grace to accept that and if its His will to know its from Him.

Totus Tuus and trust in Jesus sister.

If it does or doesn't happen it really means little. Just try not to be afraid sister.

Jesus said, "if you ask for a fish, would he give you a serpent... if you ask for bread, would he give you a stone?" speaking of how a earthly father gives to his children... then continues by saying "how much greater" is the love of our Heavenly Father.

Don't worry... just go and receive from your Father. If He's not capable of protecting you and keeping you as your honestly seek Him, then He wouldn't be God now would He?

thanks :)

I think that probably my problem was indeed fear.

Joab, I didn't yet talk to a priest but that's because he'll be away until July 14th. There is another priest at the parish but I was told to speak with the Pastor, because I guess he's been there for a longer period of time and has probably dealt with more conversions.

Monica, just go and enjoy being in the presence of the Lord. He will give you exactly what you need. Remember, you can never out give God. Just by you going and showing him how much you love him is a pure joy and gift to our Fathers heart. Keep in mind to not force something that isn't there, because the blessing might not be at that moment, it may give you the graces you need for later. Just enjoy. You are in my prayers. God bless you Sister.

Go to the healing mass. Jesus loves you more than you can imagine. If you are slain in the Spirit, it is a special gift from the Lord who is expressing His love for you. Do not be afraid. Go to the healing mass and go up to be prayed over. The Lord only has good things for you.
