This is a nonsense thread. :P I admit. I just want something light hearted.
My church had a potluck Sunday outside at its shelter which was lovely. The weather was perfect and the kids got to play on the playground equipment. We had hot dogs and hamburgers and all the many delicious sides Methodists are well-known for bringing to a potluck. My family brought sweet potato soufle, which is usually reserved for Thanksgiving. :yum:
What fellowship have taken part in wherever you worship recently?

Never heard of a potluck.
Is it like taking a meal and then somebody else takes it home and you take someone elses, but its covered up so its a suprise until you taste it???

Nope...pot luck is where everyone brings a dish to share at a fellowship meal.

Oh, we used to do that at my last church.
I always used to take Banoffee Pie.
But some people have seriously strange tastes!

Baptist have great ones, too........I know cuz I was brought up one.
And ice cream socials, yee hah, let's throw on some chocolate syrup and nuts and sing a few hymns! :-) My mom used to beat everyone at name-that-hymn.
Well, anyway, I recently went to a ladies meeting, where we played a *really fun game. Each lady told three things about herself, but one of the things was supposed to be a lie, and the others were supposed to guess which one was the lie.
My lie was kind of a flop because I said that I was 35 years old, but there was my teenaged daughter sitting next to me (duh!) so nobody bought my lie (sniffle).

Banoffee pie is soft toffee and banana mixed together and set in a sweet pastry case. You could put whipped cream on it, but I prefer it without.
The toffe bit is a tin of condensed milk, boiled in the tin for 2 hours, but I don't know what the equivelent of condensed milk would be elsewhere.

Hi Folks.
Our Messianic congregation has an oneg (potluck) EVERY week! They are excellent. Now that I'm working outside the home I usually don't make my dish from scratch. My favorite thing to bring is an industrial-sized can of Galil brand stuffed grape leaves. Open the can, slice up a lemon for garnish and viola! it's a dish to share.
Anyhow, I wanted to say "Hi."
Shalom,
Tami (Torah Christian is the label I usually use these days.)
