Anyone interested in becoming a mod? With summertime here, there are a lot of people taking vacations so we could use the extra help :)

That is when Pastors go away to another state for 2-4 weeks per year yet people still call them on the emergency cell phone asking what time is that church Bar-B-Q scheduled for ...

Love to but I'm underage and an Anglican. Hehe. I hear you have to be at least 15 or 16.
LilLamb219

I really don't know the age limit to tell you the truth. I do think Anglicans need mods as well. I'll have to look into the age thing!

Personally, I believe that Mods should be adults. We've had issues with teenage moderators in the past. (Melethiel being the exception. She is beyond her years in intellect.)

You'd think I'm too old for the job. The beamishboy has the maturity of a 40 year old and the intellectual vigour of a 50 year old Professor. Hehe.

Judging by your posts in GT, I'd say you're too excitable to be a mod. And this has nothing to do with age - I'd say the same for an adult. (I used to be Administrator of the theology forums, and part of my job was recruiting, so I know what I'm talking about.)

Excitable? The beamishboy languidly turns to his friends and with a weary smile, shakes his head sadly.
Anyway, the truth is I'd never be a mod even if I was offered modship on a silver platter. I'm too much of a free spirit.

Self-aggrandizement is not a mark of maturity. ;)
And thanks for the compliments, LilLamb and DaRev, but I fully admit that I have been quite childish at times...
Now, as for new mods...what about WildStrawberry or QuiltAngel? I think they'd both be great.

As DaRev said (except for a couple of exceptions) we need people with more maturity. This forum can get complicated and with people of our own denom (and longevity on this forum) they can be more efficient in ferreting out problems. 'Nuff said.
LilLamb219

Other forums need mods as well :) But, you're right in that we need Lutherans to really understand Lutheran reports at times.
beamishboy

I was only joking. I have no intention of applying to be a moderator in any forum. Like I've said, the beamishboy is a free spirit.
I wouldn't be a mod in the Anglican forum or any forum even if the Archbishop of Canterbury begged me on his knees. Hehe.

So as a clarification, which forums are open for moderators? I might because then I would be forced to read more of the threads resulting in myself learning more.
LilLamb219
21st June 2008, 08:32 PM
Which forums interest you the most? When you go to a forum, check at the bottom of the page for the moderators (listed with M's) and if there are less than 4, they'd most likely love to have you to help!

What exactly is involved? How much time is required?
LilLamb219
22nd June 2008, 08:39 AM
What moderators do for the most part is post Mod Hats in threads that get out of control, when reports come in, they decide if a rule has been violated and give a notice if one has. I believe the time requirement is a minimum 4 hours per week...although I'm probably here about a couple hours a day!!!
