I promise not to be obnoxious with the polls! Thanks again, to those who are willing to help.

I could be mistaken here, but aren't the top two bascially the same? God is in heaven, so if we are with God, that's where we'll be. Of course, one must differentiate between the heaven there now and the new heaven to be created.

Many in the "soul sleep" camp, because the Scriptures say that the absent from the body are present with the Lord, say that the dead are with God at rest, but not in Heaven, inasmuch as that's their big contention. I think it's an impossible differentiation to make, but moreover, the souls of the martyrs in revelation are certainly with the Lord in heavan, not asleep but fully aware of who they are, where they are, and what has been done to them.

What he said.

I'm not of the "soul-sleep" camp either.

God Bless

Till all are one.

In the Heaven that is now, not the New Heaven that will come about when the New Earth comes about.... not asleep.... neither are the unsaved asleep....

Jesus said to the thief on the cross next to Him, 'I assure you, today you will be with Me in paradise'(Luke 23:43).

I am having an educated guess and saying paradise is Heaven.

Now there is a good point I'd not even considered.

In the typical dispensational theology in which I was raised, for what it's worth, paradise is the Abraham's Bosom from the parable of lazarous, not heaven itself, but paradise was emptied into heaven with the ressurrection. I'm no die-hard dispensationalist, but I think that's not an awful conclusion, inasmuch as Jesus on the mount of transfiguration was talking with Moses and Elijah about the "exodus" which he was about to lead, and one of Paul's epistles says "when he ascended on high, he lead a host of captives in his train."
