Happy Father's Day to all our fathers and soon to be fathers!

Thank you. Yesterday, I took Jeremiah and we went out riding on the local transit system and checked out the light rail. We even got to see a model of the Space Needle built entirely from Legos. It was a lot of fun.

Thanks!

My daughter was only able to come home for a short while, so we (sinners that we are) skipped Church this morning and went sailing in a gale. We got knocked down and some fishermen came to our rescue. The gave us a tow to shore where we got it bailed, re-rigged and continued our sail (more attentively this time). We laughed much, and were none the worse for wear. This was her first knock-down, but she has been washed off the bow once in wilder conditions.

We went home, got dry cloths on, and had BBQ steaks that I cut from a 12 lb prime rib roast. They were a thing of beauty.

She got me Anne Rice's new book "Christ the Lord, The Road to Cana". My wife give me the first one; "Out of Egypt" for Christmas 2 years ago, it was a good read also.

Today has been a blessing!

My daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters came yesterday and spent the night. It was a great time. It was good to have them here and see them in church this morning, even though the little one made her presence known a few times. :P

You know that story when after filo baptized one child, he/she became very quiet during services from that time on.

I know there is only one baptism ... but just a thought. :)

How large was that Legos model?

(I needed to look up Space Needle in Wikipedia to appreciate that statement). :)

We celebrated a double holiday at our house. Fathers Day and our anniversary. We had lunch at a local Mexican restaurant, then went to the grocery store. We bought a french silk pie to celebrate (my husband's favorite). Then I went to work and he decided to mow the lawn.

Father's Day is weird for me and rather sad. My father and I are not close - AT ALL. But I do wish all you wonderful fathers in TCLville a very great day.

Thanks.
Instead of bible class this morning the Sunday school class had a breakfast for father's day. Of course the kids didn't make the breakfast but had help from the mom's. Then I went to St.louis and the kids and gkids had a BBQ for us dads. Always good to see them all. Yesterday a previous gfriend came out and I gave her some windows and a bakers rack that I had picked up cheap at Habitat. Then we went out in the boonies by the river and ate at the restaurant on a cliff and watched the river and the ferry that crosses it.

Rough estimate? I would guess that it was around seven feet tall. The Eiffel Tower model next to it must have been around nine feet tall. Pretty cool. Jeremiah enjoyed it.

You are too young to have grandchildren! My parents are 50 and my brothers and I are not even close... Even though one is 23.

So lets see.....
I took my family to see Indiana Jones, and then I took them to dinner, and then to desert.

The message today was pretty good. Our minister of family life talked for a bit on the different greek words for love that was used in the dialog of Peter and Jesus in John. The "Do you love me" part. It was interesting to see what the actual translations would say instead of just reading it like I would without the knowledge of the correct translation. (Jesus did say agape the first two times right?)

Anyway, I hope all of you got through the whole day without arguing and fighting which always happens in my family.

Ah, Radiata, you have medium-to-young-average-aged parents. Lots of people become grandparents in their 40s. It's possible, although not desirable, to become a grandparent by age 30. Then there was Tony Randall (aka Felix Unger) who became a first-time father in his 70s. Abraham was 100. Anyway, it sounds like you had a great day with your family.

Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads out there. And step-fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures too.

My grandmother became a grandmother at the age of 34 and great-grandmother at the age of 53.

In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, there's a scene where Juliet's mother scolds her for being an old maid at age 14. "When I was your age, I was already a mother." or words to that effect. I haven't read it since 9th grade English class.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention our music ministry yesterday. My dad and brother were 2 of the 12 people there including 4 singers, 1 drums, 1 piano, 1 keyboard, 1 bass, 3 guitars, and something else. All 12 were men and all 12 were wearing Hawaiian shirts. They said that even though all of them were getting old, it still didn't mean that they didn't know hot to have fun.

God does not have a dress code.

These were the people in the music ministry.

I am aware of God not having a dress code, but I was wondering what type of music they were singing that warrented Hawaiian shirts.
