Alright here are some of the things that the tech team and coder are working on to get Christian Forums up and running right:


Privacy Settings for profiles
Moderated posts in unmoderated areas
Improving the ebanning method
A list of the features that have been fixed/upgraded recently are:




The Report feature
The Male/Female usergroups have been added
Ask a Chaplain forums aer up and running
Poll issues
Eating Disorder forums fixed
PM downloading
Post Time sequencing
Email Notifications
That is just a few (not all) of the features that have been fixed lately. I will keep updating as the tech team and coder complete more tasks.

I entered into a contract with CF. I give you my money and in return you give me what you promised in return. Now give what you promised as SS benefits to me or give me my money back. It's in the neighborhood of $2,000.

As to the bank, the new bank software was set up to give interest monthly at 3.5 % and charged 5% transaction fees. I don't know anyone who *wanted* it that way? It was the last tech guy, who is no longer with us, who promised the bank back, the new guy is working things in a different way, I'm sure he will get to it and hopefully we can collect interest weekly and have no fees :thumbsup: but I'm sure this will require coding and testing because when the last guy worked on it trillions of blessings flowed all over the forum where people had *infinite* blessings showing :sigh: I hope and pray it will all come in time :pray: I too have given signifant resources to CF since I came here but am not giving anything for now. I don't like that I am being charged to use my bank. IRL I would find another one. I want to give SS status to others, but as you said it is pointless.
I also agree with others, I entered into a contract with CF, I hope that this will be honored.
But it has been a month now, and I would think that many of the visible issues need to be taken care of, so that I choose to continue SS status.

I realize that there are many behind the scenes issues you are working on, but if the visible ones are not being cared about why should I continue my SS Status?

I am sure that you all are working diligently on the things you see that need to be fixed. How about those that make it easier, more fun for us to do things as well.

Perhaps a gesture of goodwill by the site owner would be to say "I will not take anyone elses money until I can provide a service worth paying for", and then disable the function allowing people to give him their money. That way nobody pays for a service that does not work.

Everyone, once again I want to address that this thread is not to complain about what is not here, but to praise and thank the people that are working hard to get our site back up and running properly.

all of your concerns are noted, we know that the SS stuff has to get worked out, we know there is no bank at the moment. But you need to be patient, and know that the advisors and Lee have your best interests in mind when they decide what is going to be fixed first. And priority is getting the site stable and running properly, hands down.

I am sorry that you are getting frustrated and upset, really I am, and I apologize for the time it is taking to get things visible to you all. But please, pray for the tech team and Adrian as they work through the coding and masterminding that goes into all of our beloved features, instead of constantly reminding them that it is taking a long time to get things up and running. I think they know that arleady. Right now they need the love and prayers from our community here, not people bashing down their door, complaining of not having some features.

They are working their hardest as is everyone else here to restore CF with all the amazing features and some new real cool ones. So please, I ask you again, pray for them and praise them, but do not get angry and complain. It does none of us any good.

I am pretty new to the site..I have confidence that the owners and staff are doing all they can to fix everything that is not working properly..Besides prayer, I showed my confidence and my belief in the good christian works going on within this huge forum by renewing my ss status when it expired a couple weeks ago..I would just as soon my status as a ss doesn't show up for reasons between myself and God and a verse somewhere about boasting..

I keep hearing (from staff) how this is one of the biggest sites on the internet.

Most of what is wrong here at CF2 is just a matter of SIMPLE configuration.

With all of the supposed staff working on such a valuable and large internet site, these simple tasks should be addressed in a matter of days or hours, not weeks and months.

After all, upgrading to the new version of vBulletin was to get rid of the hacks to make it simpler to configure and maintain? right?

This site USED to be one of the biggest on the internet - 2.5 years ago when the "rules" of the board and the way staff was handled was changed (due to pushes from members complaining from atheist board for more liberal freedoms and for freedoms and equality here for non believers/other religions/atheists) more and more the ideal became self esteem and worldly issues and "my rights" instead of Godly ones and many senior staff left as did many members - then the push from the disgrutled members (many of whom had been banned for being unable to follow the guidelines here) became harder because they saw that the constant push had worked for them and watering down changes were made again and then more and more members left CF till it spiraled down to the 777 changes (which most know ruined it here) which resulted in half the membership at the time leaving and then Erwin ending up selling the board. (btw ive been here now almost 5 years)

People are still leaving because of the mess thats happened since then.

So no this site is no longer one of the largest (by far)- and membership is a little under a third of what it once was and drops weekly.

I hope that one day the site is taken back to where it used to be - :prayer: honoring God first before anything else. I'd love to see it like it was - filled with members - so may forums here anymore dont even get a hit hardly ever anymore.

Also, when you donated your money to the site--- you were told that there were no refunds, there were no special privileges other than the features being offered. It stinks that we had to have the upgrades and lose a good chunk of what we're use to--- but the bottom line is that those hacks were no good to the site, can NOT be used now, and will more than likely be replaced by better features as time passes.

So unless you're here to post about the updates Redstiletto is providing--- such as questions on what will be next, how to possibly use the new feature, etc--- I would suggest you take your thoughts on what you don't like about this site and how you feel you deserve your money back to another thread. I'm not trying to be rude to any of you, but this thread is simply not the place for that discussion. And Redstiletto shouldn't have to waste her time cleaning up this thread and fighting with you all.

That might be true, but if you just consider FORUM SITES and not every site, CF ranks as #14: http://rankings.big-boards.com/

It makes a big difference~~ CF is one of the largest online forum sites.

Adrian has been focused on resolving a lot of the bugs and restoring lost features. Part of the problem is we lost some data, including the details of all the site supporter features.

We have a basic list drawn up to give to Adrian, i.e. no ads, no wait time between posts/pm's, unlimited smilies, etc, but it is likely this is list is incomplete. Red is going to start a thread asking for the details and we can give the list to Adrian for him to complete.

I apologize for the delay on this. I will include a link to the thread once it is posted.

I am beyond offended by your attitude. I gave my hard earned money to CF and was promised by CF certain features in return - no delay between posts and pms for one. I bought something, I didn't make a donation. I bought a service.

Now would you be okay if you paid for a year of cable and it hadn't been working for a month? How would you feel about a rep from that company dismissing your complaints by saying we told you no refunds go complain somewhere else.

This is probably the first time I've felt like chucking it all and leaving this site. You owe me and all site supporters an apology angeldove.

Lee might be capable of many things Angeldove, but even he cannot rewrite basic comsumer law. It matters not one jot what we were allegedly 'told'. We did NOT 'donate' our money, we purchased a service. At that point we entered into a contract with CF for the supply of those services. I know not how the law words things in the States but I assume it is a similer situation to the UK. Over here we have legislation stating that a product or service MUST be "Fit for the purpose for which it is sold". It is glaringly obvious to all concerned that this is not the case with CF. Therefore, this is a clear breach of contract on the part of the CF owner.

I believe it was President Trueman who had that famous sign on his desk "The buck stops here". I'm afraid that in this situation that applies to the site owner as well. The buck stops with Lee. All these problems should have been forseen, and contingencies put in place, BEFORE he commenced these changes. It is unreasonable and unacceptable for him to expect the fee paying membership of this site to dociley accept this situation ad infinitum, whilst he continues to fill his pockets from ours. If he believes that to be the case then he has purchased the wrong site.

Please can you post here the much vaunted 'list' in full? We keep getting told that everything is 'on the list', so please can we see it?

What is more, can you please post it in order of priority, so that we can see how far down the priority order the things that really matter to the paying membership are?

Also can you show by each item the following information....

1) Who is responsible for dealing with each item
2) The date it was commenced, or the expected date of commencement
3) The expected date of completion and when that item will be operational.

Instead of patronisingly telling us to 'be patient', and that 'we know whats best for you', let us have a real degree of accountability for this mess.

I would add that, contrary to official advice on the matter, we do not wish to report any bugs, or suggest any new features. What we want is the restoration of the features and services already paid for by us.

Sadly, I agree with you sister. This thread will probably not see it through the weekend. Whats more, I expect to have many of my posts at least deleted, and myself possibly banned. I have already taken steps in anticipation of these eventualities.

Lee did discuss ways of comping SS members for the time without SS features, but its not solid enough to officially announce.

In the transition between techs, the documentation on SS features was lost, thus it needs to be reverse engineered. Please post any of the perks you can remember (http://christianforums.com/showthread.php?t=7245321) as well as any details.

The priority is the backend, not members features, not SS features, but the internals to keep the site stable. It is the foundation, and it needs to be solid. Once that is done, we will be rolling out the other features, albeit we do try to fit in a couple visible features every week or so.

As far as site size goes, we are one of the largest VB sites in the world, I think still in the top 5, at least last I checked. In the top 15 as far as message boards go. The numbers you see as far as online users doesn't tell the whole story.... In fact, the downward trend starting a couple years back has reversed and we've actually bypassed a number of prior records as far as stats go. This is not to say we haven't lost members, as we certainly have... However new member signups are way way up, and the number of lurkers is as well.

I am beyond offended by your attitude. I gave my hard earned money to CF and was promised by CF certain features in return - no delay between posts and pms for one. I bought something, I didn't make a donation. I bought a service.

Now would you be okay if you paid for a year of cable and it hadn't been working for a month? How would you feel about a rep from that company dismissing your complaints by saying we told you no refunds go complain somewhere else.

That's your point of view--- I've supported this ministry not just with $$$ but with dedicating a good amount of my personal time to it too. I'm a SS too--- not because I was promised features like faster posting abilities or extra smilies, but because I enjoy this ministry--- I enjoy the people, I enjoy having a place that is actively moderated, I enjoy what I learn from here. That's why I supported the area, so maybe that's also why I'm not all peeved about not having the features back just yet.

So your example of paying for cable goes out the window here--- you're helping to support a ministry, we said you'd get some features too but sadly at this time those features haven't been worked out yet or the SS program is having an issue (I believe mnphysicst addressed this already). Your money went to keeping this site up and allowed for the upgrades to take place--- so that this site could stay up. But regardless of features, you are mainly supporting a ministry. If you don't like the ministry any longer, than you have to decide whether or not you want to continue supporting it financially or not. But that's your choice: give money to get features or give money to support the ministry here. I think depending on your view, it will effect your outcome. But that's your choice totally.

Secondly, I don't think its at all fair that you all are ganging up on Redstiletto as she writes in this thread. If you have questions or comments concerning this thread for her, instead of swamping the thread, send her a pm. This is not a thread to put in complaints about what is going on--- I'm sure Nic will update this thread when she gets the info... as soon as the tech have the info as well. I'm good friends with her and I've known her to always answer a person who contacts her.

I know the whole patience thing is wearing everybody thin. But I'm a member too--- I'm not just saying this stuff as a Staff member, but because I am a member and I'm allowed my point of view on things too. I'm not here to fight, I'm not here to bicker or go back and forth with you. And I'm sure if you talked to somebody who actually knew me, you'd find out I'm a pretty nice person online and in real life. My goal is to help out the ministry and that's the bottom line. The features will come when they can.

This site USED to be one of the biggest on the internet - 2.5 years ago when the "rules" of the board and the way staff was handled was changed (due to pushes from members complaining from atheist board for more liberal freedoms and for freedoms and equality here for non believers/other religions/atheists) more and more the ideal became self esteem and worldly issues and "my rights" instead of Godly ones and many senior staff left as did many members - then the push from the disgrutled members (many of whom had been banned for being unable to follow the guidelines here) became harder because they saw that the constant push had worked for them and watering down changes were made again and then more and more members left CF till it spiraled down to the 777 changes (which most know ruined it here) which resulted in half the membership at the time leaving and then Erwin ending up selling the board. (btw ive been here now almost 5 years)

People are still leaving because of the mess thats happened since then.

So no this site is no longer one of the largest (by far)- and membership is a little under a third of what it once was and drops weekly.

I hope that one day the site is taken back to where it used to be - :prayer: honoring God first before anything else. I'd love to see it like it was - filled with members - so may forums here anymore dont even get a hit hardly ever anymore.

i totally agree Bro! We've all been sitting around keeping our mouths shut, trying to be patient, polite and all that and we aren't getting answers, no communication, a month since the upgrade and we are SOOOOOO far from having anything back we had. It would be nice if LeeD the SITE OWNER would speak up and tell us SOMETHING himself. And it would be nice if there was more than ONE TECH working on all this...at this rate the features wont all be back for over a year and there'll be 3 members left on the site. Alot of the forums have become GHOSTTOWNS. sigh...

It is both a Ministry and a Message board... I contributed for various reasons to support this site. For the last year almost I have flipped back and forth sometimes in utter frustration... the only reason I am still here is because of the people I have met here. I am convinced that the forum itself is not Christian and am concerned that much that happens in leadership here is much less than Christlike. :sigh:

I don't expect any kind of refund, I would like to hear directly from Lee that an extension of benefits will be added to all SS for the length of time that the perks promised have been ineffective/non functional. That seems basic to me? Lee's lack of participation here speaks volumes to me ???

I am done supporting this site until these matters are resolved !

well based on what your saying everywhere is a ministry. Sure individuals here can minister to others and do, but CF, the forum, isn't a ministry in my eyes. CF is not where i would send someone looking to find CHrist. some places here, like GT actually turn people FROM the faith. i will agree there are some great christians here, ministewring to others.

This thread was to praise and encourage the tech team and coder, but since you have proven that is to hard for you to do, this thread is now closed.

Thank you for proving that you can not be civil enough to be patient to wait for your feature of choice to be up and running.

The tech team and coder are working hard to get everything up and running as fast as they can, but the site needs to be stable before we can start adding the features to it. We have stated this several times but it does not seem to be sinking in.

So as staff, the advisors, the tech team, coder and myself have tried hard to meet your needs in providing updated lists on what is being worked on, it once again does not seem like it is good enough, so from now on you can check the upgrade list that is stickied and closed in the announcement area, but you will no longer be able to comment on it, located HERE (http://christianforums.com/showthread.php?t=7245493). That is where you will be able to see what is going on and you can look to see if your feature of choice is up to be worked on.
