Now, in response to that piece of *^!%%, does one support or boycott Dunkin’ Donuts?

I think we need to take up a special collection to buy Michelle Malkin a clue. The scarf is obviously a paisley pattern, not the pattern of a keffiyeh, and even if it were a keffiyeh they are worn by lots of people in the Middle East.

I read over the article you posted, Orthosdoxa, and I see the history behind the scarf and all, but I don't really think Ray is informed enough to even know what the scarf's history is, personally.

And the British army uses them too; they call them "shemaghs".

Did she even decide her wardrobe attire for the commercial or did a staff member from the Dunkin Donuts team?
Eh, this came up on WD. When I read the original article, I thought to myself, I wonder how people would be reacting if she was wearing something that bore the swastika symbol. To me, it's a non issue but I can understand why someone could take issue with it. It's not such a far fetched thought imho.

I guess. My thoughts were either someone does her wardrobe or she picks whatever is the "in" fashion and goes with it, with no knowledge of where the fashion came from.

I say the Dunkin' Donuts people should have kept the ad, and hoped that people would start associating the scarf with Dunkin' Donuts, thus thwarting the terrorists' use of it. :D That's one way to beat them! Take their scarves away from them. ^_^

This is really silly. Sorry but it is. If her scarf really was a replica of the Islamic one then ok, maybe but it's just a black and white scarf that happens to fall so that it sorta looks like an Islamic scarf. I have a pictures of me that look misleading (and down right unflattering- no I'll never post them!) just because there's a picture doesn't make it true!

They could have changed the scarf using computer graphics. :)
