What is the purpose of TAW? Orthodox Christians come here to socialize, communicate and hang out. And also to for others to inquire, ask questions, and learn about the Faith. What do you say about organizing a social group? For good purpose?

What would be the format of the social group? We are scattered around the world, and I think the Taverna Thread is as close to a Social Group as you are going to get online.

Hmm. I was thinking of an organized group that is a fellowship of Orthodox Christians.

Do you mean a group where only Orthodox Christian (or those in preparation to be an Orthodox Christian) would be allowed to post?

No, that is an exclusive club or a clique.
There should be a group that will help newcomers and inquirers learn about the Faith.

You mean that would be its sole purpose? Isn't this forum a place to help newcomers and inquirers learn about our Faith?

I know for a fact that over the four years I've been posting here, there have been quite a few enquirers who we believe have converted to Eastern Orthodoxy. We don't have exact numbers, but they are quite a few. Some of them came in here after fighting us bravely in General Theology, and after finding the Orthodox way, went on to find their closest Orthodox place of worship and question the priest. Some later came back to show their Baptismal or Chrismation photos.:)

I'm happily one of those people y'all converted! :D
Hopefully chrismation photos eventually. :P
But I am a bit confused. What you are talking about, K3... is that not what TAW is?

Maybe this person means in real life... which that's what our luncheon after Divine Liturgy is for. ;)

Like many of the others - I too am one of these people! Four years of inquiring on and off - and now I'm officially Orthodox!

I'm another converted enquirer that wandered in here one day! I'll be baptized on the 8th of June :D
I think TAW pretty much is that already.
