I really need your prayers brothers and sisters. I am on a downward spiral in my life. I am really down and have been for a while -just have not admitted it. It is affecting my marriage, relationship with my kids, my studies- I am ready to give up on. I spoke to my pastor a few weeks ago and that helped a little but he is sooooo busy himself I do not want to burden him anymore. I refuse to give up on God He is the only thing keeping me going! I read the Bible everyday but prayer life is sufferring and finding it hard to do that. I have to lead a worship service next week and at the moment I feel that that would be not the right thing to do because of how I am feeling. I have been reading a book by Tim Lahaye, 'How to win over depression', I think that is what I have. I think I have been suffering from it for a while. I guess there is a pride thing you don't want people to know you are suffering and seem weak? I believe Martin Luther and C.H. Spurgeon were affected by depression also!
Please pray!!!

Brother, I hear you. Been there myself before. We all have. Of course, that doesn't help you right now...
"Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with DISTRESSES, wth persecutions, with DIFFICULTIES, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Cor. 12:10 NASB
Hold fast to what you know to be true and wait on God for the rest!

know also that you are secure in Him man.
Even if you deny Him.. He won't let you go.. like a rebelling son or daughter is still blood family of their parents.
This isn't denying your free will.. it is the spiritual status He has with your spirit.. He is in it.. and indwelling you.. and is grieving for you..
But yeah.. I know the feeling.. I am going thru a bit of a bad patch myself.. just coming out the other side now thru the Holy Spirit's direction. But yeah I got no kids or wife.. so I don't have the same pressures I guess.
Anyway.. God is with you.. and even if you fall away and think you have left Him.. He is still there.. cos that is His committment to you.

If you think that you are Clinically Depressed...seek professional help ASAP. I speak from first hand experience....my sister is clinically depressed...and honestly the Lord will be right by your side when and if you choose to do what you need to do to get better.
I'm praying for you brother.
God Bless.

Please pray!!!So is life getting you down or is there something more specific that is drawing you down?

Can't agree with ImmersionX's advice enough. Prayer is a wonderful help in our times of need - but that doesn't mean we don't need medical help too. Don't try to solve depression on your own - seek out good professional help.
In the meantime - am praying for you Trinityisunity.
