Who carries their Bible where ever they go? Do you have one stashed in your work desk or work place? Do you keep one in the car/truck? I heard recently from a Uniting Church minister that people turn up to his Bible studies without their Bibles.

He then mentioned that Baptists would not go anywhere without their Bibles. I keep a couple of Gideon N.T. in the car for giving away or to read while waiting in the car for the wife or kids, etc. I am glad to say that every Bible study group I have ever attended everyone has brought a Bible. That is why you go is it not to read and study the Bible???:preach:

I keep one by my bed and one in my van. Every time I buy one for my purse I end up giving it away.

I will take it in with me to read while waiting at dentist, doctor, mechanic, etc. I also keep a flashlight in the van in case I am waiting in the van for someone.

I have two that go with me everywhere. The Hebrew/Greek/English Interlinear and my trusty old King James.

Hmmm...dare I be honest here and look really bad? Why not!

I don't really go too many places....grocery store, occasionally the doctor, and other various errands/chores/events that come up. I confess I don't think to carry my bible with me to these places.

Now...to church? Always. To bible study? Always. And...in my home I have about three availabe at various locations to grab and look at. I also keep Bible Gateway (www.biblegateway.com) readily available on my computer so that I can look up scriptures, keywords, etc...

My dh has a bible with him at work and often carries the same bible in his car.

I never carry in a bible, although I think I have a bible with the proper small frame auto cutout.
Just kidding.

I have a bible in my car, one in my Harley and one in my laptop case. I have several pocket bibles but I don't wear clothes with extra pockets, so I really don't use them much.

I recently started taking my Bible with me in the car on workdays. It just makes me feel better having it there just in case I need it in times of stress, and knowing that I can take some time during my lunch break to read some scripture is like a mental pillow throughout the day.
And I never leave home on a Sunday morning without it.

Peace.

I always have one when I have my PDA.

Beyond that I don't take one every place I go. (Like to the store or the restaurant)

Well, I'm a SAHM now, so I don't really go to too many places...

When I was a student and working I used to carry one in my bag with me everywhere, I used to read it on the train commuting (the conversations it started! :swoon: :D) And I used to read it at work on breaks.

Now I'm at home there's bible's everywhere! :P

I have one of my Bibles in my backpack, so it pretty much goes everywhere with me.

At home of course, and on my computer (Bible Gateway and the NET Bible). Also in my car and in my backpack. I have a pocket ESV New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs that comes with me if I have a pocket or purse for it.

I have an NLT that I got on accident. Someone suggested to me to get an NASB, but when I got to the store, I forgot what initials he said and I thought NLT sounded right. Took it home, marked it all up, so there was no exchanging when I found out I got the wrong one. I have really enjoyed this version though. I carry it everywhere, when I leave, its in the side pocket of my child's diaper bag. I feel wierd without it. I have several other versions at home, my pastor suggested I get the NIV-Life Application Bible, and I got one, but the application notes in it overwhelm me. I bet I have opened it twice. I really like my NLT, I figure once I give it a complete read through, I'll get me an NASB and read it next. My Bible generally goes everywhere with me. It is a security for me. Bigtime.

I also must admit, when I first seen the title of this thread, I thought it was referring to carrying a gun. lol. Although I love guns, the Bible is a far better weapon. :D

Greetings from your friendly neighborhood Methodist.

I have a KJV that I keep in my car, and I bought a pocket Holman CSB to take with me whenever I think I'm going to be somewhere where I'll have some extra reading time. Sometimes I work at places where it gets real slow and that pocket Holman has helped me through some boring shifts!

God Bless :)

Those of you that carry a bible to places, what do you do with it once you are wherever you are?

Well, I'm a stay-at-home-mom, and I live in a "geographical oddity" (20 minutes from anywhere), and with the price of gas these days, I hardly ever leave the farm. But I always take my Bible with me because if I need it, or want it, then its there. Most the time, it stays snug in the diaper bag. However, I debate some with my stepdad, or need to point out something to my mom, and it's been handy to keep with me. It's a comfort to have with me. If something bad happened while I was away from home, it would comfort me. I get anxiety attacks, and reading the Bible defences against anxiety. Basically, you never know when you might need it. You might be sitting in a waiting room at the doctor's office and someone strike up a conversation with you. I sure would not want to turn someone off from learning because I don't have my Bible with me.

I have several at home - one by my bed, one in the living room/kitchen/den, one at work - I don't, however, keep a Bible in my car other than on Sundays.

As an aside - the only times I don't lock my car is on the occasions when I leave my Bible in it. I figure if someone's going to steal something from my car, they'll need the Bible.

Psalm 119:11, 'I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you'

It is beneficial to memorise Scripture because the day might come where you do not have a Bible on you or access to one for some reason or another.

Some people have learnt word for word complete chapters and books of the Bible!

I normally have at least 1 in my car. And as for work, I work at a Christian bookstore, so I have plenty to pick from.
