Is marriage a RIGHT or is marriage a PRIVILEDGE?
And, who should decide what is acceptable? The People or the Court?
I ask this due to the recent Cal. Supreme Court ruling overturning the people's majority vote to ban same sex marriages:

SAN FRANCISCO — The California Supreme Court overturned a ban on gay marriage Thursday, calling such a prohibition unconstitutional and paving the way for California to become the second state where gay and lesbian residents can marry.

I believe marriage, and its purpose was defined by God at the creation of man and woman.
As God not only created by joined the two and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply.
I certainly don't believe that what a marriage consists of should be able to be determined
and pronounced upon ALL people by 4 individuals (judges or not), that's for sure.
I believe the people of California have already spoken and their voices should not
have been put on mute by a couple of knuckleheads with mallets.

....They destroy themselves, they cater to people acting foolishly, and they will reep foolishness. It sucks that it is considered an "act of kindness" to support such foolish behavior now a days.
Yea.... marrage is between a man and woman. If the state government wishes to see it as lawful, the whole state government is then foolish. So I would say to move because your state is being run by people who choose to act like fools, and are some day going to put your life in danger.
----it sucks, even when the foolish think themselves to be "enlightened".

I agree, they once again usurp the people and legislate from the bench.
I expect nothing less from such a liberal state - they want to be liberal, then get upset when liberals judges usurp their will?
LOL
This is what liberalism is! They can get a taste of their own medicine. Yes we all suffer becuz of it but this is the worldview they love & embrace; enjoy it

I'm not gay, but I think gay people should be able to get married if they choose to do so. To each their own. As long as everyone is happy without harming anyone else. I hope everyone finds God of course, but I don't worry about others marrying each other. In my mind people who love each other should be able to get married, no matter their religion or sexual preference. So yes, I think marriage is a right, not just a privilege if you happen to play on the straight side of the fence.
