I might can help you with that. I listen to John MacArthur every day on the radio. He is wonderful but I can understand why a smaller church may be more appealing. More opportunity to serve and be ministered to on a personal level.
My brother is a pastor and has contacts all over the country. He has helped me find churches for several people on here. It may be another couple of weeks though. He lives in Michigan but he is here visiting us this week and next. I do not know if he has all of his contacts with him. Probably not. I will send him an e-mail right now for him to have when he gets back home, and I will call him to see if he can help now.
Encino, California, right?

I am not in California so I can't really answer your question, but I was just wondering why the change?

I'm in Southern California, and attend a great Baptist church. We have a weekly attendance of about 350 people.
We have 2 services on Sunday morning. The first one (9:15-10:30) is "contemporary". (Third Day, David Crowder style music).
Let me know if you are interested.

I have no clue where Encino is, but Ken Jones (of The White Horse Inn) is pastor of Greater Union Baptist Church in Compton, California. He's guested at my church multiple times - does an excellent job of opening Scripture.
If that isn't close go to their website - they have links to multiple Baptist churches in California.
