Are the new avitars going to stay so big? I've always liked the cf charactors but the space they take now up is kinda annoying. I'm trying to read threads and all I see are giant boxes.

I like them. :)
They started off much smaller, but you couldn't see any of the detail in the CF characters.

My background will not cover the area I want.

I used one of the new 'Living Avatar' backgrounds.
The CF backgrounds are too small.

This is great. I can do a family Christmas card in these backgrounds.

I'd have to say when people put their whole family in the big box isn't so bad, but I've just want to have one person and I think it looks silly to have so much space for her. I thought maybe the crop feature would make it smaller but it just made what I didn't cut out bigger and now I can't change it because the edit avatar deal always freezes up the computer. :help:
Actually the site in general hasn't been running well on my computer but that's another matter.
Does anybody know if there will be anything done to make editing the new avatars run better? It's got to be a nightmare for anyone with dial up. lol

I accidentally did what you did, cropping and making it bigger. I changed my avatar to a picture of my bird for a day or two and then tried again from scratch. This is what i got.
My intention is to start kicking my kids out though so they are going to start dropping like flies in my avatar. ^_^
