I haven't felt the desire to post here in a while, and it appears others feel the same way. Its dead around here.

What's going on?

I've recently come back, after an absence of nine months. I sincerely hope that neither CF in general, nor STR in particular, are dying. On other forums, people are saying that they don't like the changes. Perhaps that has something to do with things being slow. If so, I hope it gets worked out soon; and/or that we get used to the "new CF."

Well the site has been down for a few days. That and warmer weather is drawing us all outside and away from the computer. (at least it is for me.)

I wondered what is going on when TomUK did a check in thread here at STR and I noticed a bunch of the people who used to frequent here did not check in.

In the old days, when people left the forum, they would make an announcement they were leaving for whatever reason. Now, it seems that people are leaving quietly.

Anyway, despite my username, in many ways I consider this my home forum here at CF, so I hope we can get it going again.

I doubt that CF is dead - if you look at any of the other Christian messageboards, this one is still the most posted-in.

STR, though, does seem to be a bit of an unconscious, non-breathing casualty. (I just did a first-aid course at work - CPR is definitely required here! *tries to think of clever words for the acronym CPR that would fit with resuscitation of STR*)

It's pretty simple really, if we want to keep STR alive then it's our responsibility. If we want it to continue then it will; if we don't, it won't.

This is my opinion as a member and not as an admin. Our diversity while being our strength is also our weakness, many here are quick to jump on others who's ideas, understanding or worship is not the same as theirs and tell them they or their church or their vicar/priest/pastor or their bishop is wrong.

We should celebrate our differences not condemn for them.

I lurk these days... but with my busy life (little daughter, school, everything else that gets put by the wayside) I just don't have time to respond to the threads that interest me. Unfortunately, such threads have been few and far between lately, so I haven't really been tempted. If I were more active in my spiritual life in general right now, I might post threads of my own, but I think it's just emblematic of my spiritual life anyway.

As for the new CF look, it has potential -- it certainly isn't driving me away, I'll say that. I like that it doesn't take so long to load up when I get here...

Hi Cola  It's probably just in a lull due to the warm weather and people still getting used to all the changes.

The new format of this site is horrible. If I zoom in the page to make the text large enough to read, much of the page is off the edge of my screen. If I zoom out the page enough to have the entire page on the screen, the text is so small it is tedious to read.
