Things are coming along nicely!I am glad to hear that. Now there are some problems but I expect you will address them as time goes by. For one it will cost me 52,000 blessings to withdraw from my savings account. Not good. I think it may be even more if I get the penalty too.

We did not know that the changes would be this when we put those blessings away. I think all charges need to be suspended until everyone can get organized again.

The site as it is now seems like the generic kind with some modifications. I wonder if the owner realizes that this could affect how many people continue to use their site?

If you add a "homepage" entry to your profile, it shows up in the drop down from your user name. Just as convenient, but CF doesn't have to have the bandwidth to handle it.

The blog will be back.. the new blog engine will be up and running shortly.
The character will work eventually, but please be patient! people are working hard on this... many for nothing.... but sorting out the glitches will take time.
And I believe that you can link to your homepage via your profile... though I don't have a clue how, not being the techy type. But I can find out :)

Meanwhile, look around, talk to people, pray for people..... do some of the things that are available! God is good, and this place is a blessing... even in it's unfinished state!

Some people need to understand that upgrades are necessary in order to move forward with the forum. The reason why CF was having so many issues and glitches is because is was so old and it would only get worse if they didn't upgrade. Yes, it sucks to lose years worth of work, but CF's been open for a day or less, so give it a chance to work out correctly. A lot of the things that the old CF had isn't compatible to the newer versions so loss is inevitable. They need to open the board up to see what bugs there are so they can fix them, so trust that they will work on it.

And for those who are being completely rude for no good reason at all, please understand the hard work it takes to redo everything and that there will be glitches and problems that need to be hammered out. It may take a week or more to get everything up to par.

You can still get the CF characters under living avatars. I dont know about pets because I didn't have one.

Try going back in and resaving your Character to see if the red X disappears....

It should all be up and running, for the most part, now.

Perhaps all members prior to upgrade should be given reimbursements in blessings for items that they are not happy with at the moment. It would go a long way at making everyone more comfortable. Just a suggestion but one worth looking at.

No - everytime i tried a button it said I had to pick an item from below, but there was nothing below. The only button that worked was the activate button.

I agree with the site support and bank stuff. They are definitely a concern. I'm saddened by the character because I would have to choose between my character and my avatar and I liked having both and seeing both on other people's posts. Oh and the rep thing as well....I can't see my or anyone else's rep points.

As for the layout, I don't really care a whole lot about what a site looks like. But this, to be honest, is very hard on my eyes. Last night and this morning I've gotten headaches from reading. I hope this gets changed very soon.

What fun is an upgrade without a few kinks? Personally I'm giving it a couple weeks for all the problems to be worked out before I start complaining too much. True, the homey feeling of the old CF hasn't applied yet for the new version, but it takes time.

Look at it this way, in a few years when they have to upgrade again, how many of you who are complaining right now, will be asking for it to be changed back to this style? GIVE IT TIME! I understand the frustrations of trying to figure out the new system. I'm confused to. But I feel that those who are working on the upgrade, and trying to tweak out the bugs still need a little more credit than they are recieving.

honestly, I like this upgraded layout - we look more legit now.

I've seen one too many comments about the dolly stuff & how we lack credibility in some ways for the "fun" stuff -
Honestly, it takes time to get this all up - I love the layout and you can't please everybody.

But, some things do need to be dealt with asap - hopefully the Bank issues in penalties for using any blessings & the SS issue...
reps aren't adding up correctly either from what I hear.

You are correct. Some of us have been through this before and understand all that needs to be done. We are patient.

A little venting by the membership harms no one and it also makes a wonderful platform for positive suggestions. It will take time, I am sure.

As far as I know, the pets aren't back as of yet. But I'm looking forward to when they do return, I miss my puppy Smuckers...

There's a thread in the CF Pets section with directions on how to get your old pets back. I'll see if I can find the link and post it here for those who have questions about the pets.

Welcome to CF2.

There are a lot of changes, and it would be unlikely that everything could be covered in a single announcement.

The first thing you'll probably notice is we have a new style. The second being there is a new forum structure. This was done in an attempt at making things a bit easier to navigate. There are a lot of forums on CF, and it can be somewhat intimidating for new members.

Some of the forums are marked as "For Christians." These are forums specifically for Christian fellowship and discussion. Theology (with the exception of Unorthodox Theology), Edification, Ministry, and Teens are currently marked as "For Christians."

The Debate category has also been rearranged. Politics, Ethics/Morality, and Philosophy have been moved to the Society category; Creation vs. Evolution has been moved as a sub-forum of Physical & Life Sciences. General Apologetics and Non-Christian Religion have been moved to the Outreach category.

There will be a new moderation protocol, released shortly. Reports will be closed, but new features installed that allow members to keep track of the status of their reports, as well as mod actions taken against their posts and threads.

There are several new features, some of which are incompatible with old features. The Character items and Pets can be transferred over to the new engine, but everyone is going to have to reacquire their items. For the first month, all pets and characters will be free, so as to allow everyone to rebuild their items.

Chrisbot, unfortunately, was not compatible with the upgrade.

There are a lot of new features, too numerous to go into much depth about them all here. These are a few:

An updated chatbox engine;
"Thank You" notes;
New smilies (in addition to current smileys);
Updated home page profiles;
Extended reputation display;
Photo albums;
Image icons and reorganization of UserCP;
New ranking system (members with the most posts, the most activity, etc);
New pets and character items (in addition to current pets and character items);
Upgraded blogs;
An information portal and site-map (to help with site navigation);
Ability to "tag" a thread, and use thread prefixes;
Drafts (so that you may save a draft post and later return to it).

Some of these are installed already; some will be installed over the next few days. Please report any bugs (in the Report Bugs forum) you come across so the techs have a chance to fix them

That I don't know about. I'm not sure whats going on with the jobs. Also a lot of people have asked questions about the banking. Again, I don't know how that works. I never really used the bank on the old CF and I don't really plan on starting now.

It is kind of nice to get more than 1 blessing per post now. That means if your saving up to get something really nice in the Armory it won't take as long. (Such as one of those big ticket items not included in the sale that's going on right now.)

Use the crop feature and put it around the part of your character you want to appear bigger (or the entire character). Hold shift and drag the edge of the crop box to make the box bigger to fit more area into it. :)

You'll be better off if you want the larger avatar to use a larger background (like mine) then use the CF Characters & items to create your image (bit more room)

I know some people live for this stuff but hopefully there can be a way to block all that in the future for those of us who just want to see the written part of the posts without one sentence taking up our entire screen :) It would be nice to keep all that stuff on the profile or homepage and not have to see it all within each post.

I know some people live for this stuff but hopefully there can be a way to block all that in the future for those of us who just want to see the written part of the posts without one sentence taking up our entire screen :)

You can block all the images, avatars and signatures and just see the basic posts by going to Edit Options.

I think you need to select a background that is large in order to have the ability to utilize the whole space. Check out all the backgrounds before picking one. :)

The only thing you have to do to make your CFC bigger is go edit it.... it makes it bigger automatically when you click save :D

Chrisbot back would be nice, but hey...can't have everything right. This blue style on the page is a little bold and bright in some spots, but that's nothing you haven't heard already I'm sure.

I know ya'll are doing your best, and I thank the powers behind the throne for all their hard work, really I do. Thanks for trying to make this the best place possible, and I will just sit back and wait for the new things coming our way. I'm guessing this is just a bare bones forum right now and that there are going to be many good changes, hopefully somewhat back to what it looked like before. Someone said that if they saw this site when they first signed up, they wouldn't have signed up, and I have to agree with that statement. To get the background behind everything you either have to put it on first, or keep hitting the "layer down" button until it's behind everything else. It's a pain to have to do that, but it works.

If you go into your settings, you can change it so it doesn't show the signatures. That's what I did, at least until they make it large signature lines can have a scroll bar again.
