In case you don't look at the little announcement section above the STR threads, I would like to direct your attention to it: http://christianforums.com/a368
CF is going off-line for a new software upgrade, from Sunday evening (May 4) to Tuesday (May 6).
The new software will then take some time to get used to, so be prepared and be patient, please! :)
Most features will transfer to the new software, but please, if you have any customised things in your profile (such as HTML codes, photo's, video clips, etc), we strongly suggest that you SAVE THESE TO YOUR LOCAL HARD DRIVE.
There will be more info sent out after the upgrade, and plenty of help available to understand the new features (I will need that help, as well!) :o

Well, it isn't a bank holiday in the USA where LeeD lives... :sorry:
They do have May 26 as Memorial Day, though.
Sunshine isn't forecast for this weekend around here, but it isn't raining as they said it would be, today.

Nope, don't like it. Feels like we've gone back a few a years and CF now looks like every other messageboard on the internet.

No blessings! :cry:I thought I had lost mine, too, but you need to dig around in your profile - mine appeared somehow after looking in there. I didn't make a note of what I had done, so can't give step-by-step, unfortunately.

Some things are ok, but like you, i find it all seems too much like all the other messageboards. the old CF was distinctive. Perhaps after time it will start to look a little more like it used to - when we all get to know it better.

I've just noticed this in the new version of the bank in the section saying that you can now take out a loan of blessings:
"Amount must be between 100 and 1,000 Blessings, and may be moderated. Minimum payments of 10.0% need to be paid back every 30 days to avoid late fees. Interest on outstanding balances is 19.5%. You may set up automatic payment plans. Your credibility rating may impact your interest rates or spending abilities."
THEY'RE BLESSINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The whole concept of being taxed for a blessing is ludicrous. If we want to put any of blessings into the bank then we're going to be charged for that as well.
Maybe i missed the footnote in the bible that says while we should definitely store our treasures in heaven, God's going to take 2% off the top.

I've just posted a complaint in the 'suggestions/complaints' section. Anyone can post in that thread and add to the complaint if they want to, I think...

The problem is that the person who that complaint would be directed to doesn't read the complaints box. He's been quite public that he doesn't want to be involved in the running of the site.
As long as we're making him money i suppose...

PS: how did you get your character to be large. I wasted over an hour with it and my character was microscopic.

I don't know how it got to be that large. I want it to be a little smaller!

Does anybody know if we are going to get faith icons back? They help a lot in some of the subforums where you never know what religion, or no religion, the person you are speaking to belongs to.

Faith icons will come back but it isn't yet final whether they will only be seen in the user's profile.

So, how do we access the blessings we have in the bank? We do still have those blessings, right?

There is work being done on the bank at the moment, that is why it is closed for now. We should all still have our blessings when the bank comes back online.

Have you all noticed that you can now change the 'skin' by choosing from the drop-down menu at the bottom of each page? I've got it on Moody Sky - easier on the eye, imv.
