There will be a lot of improvements and new features...
so now is the time to ask any questions... we will answer to the best of our ability :)

One piece of advice... no-one seems entirely sure how profiles will transfer... so it's probably worth saving things offline to re load if necessary.

Here we go again~are the updates just baubles and frippery or is there something REAL going on?

Does this happen to have anything to do with why there hasn't been much of a turnout on CF these past few weeks? There's only not much more than 1000 users online at any given time, but mostly it's under. Right now, as I post, the number on the top of the screen is 873.

Someone told me we have to choose between our character and avatar? My bunny!

If I had to choose, I'd keep the character. There's more room for creativity.

Will try and save him. Hes there to stare at everyone, oddly.;)
So what are the perks of this upgrade?

No, this one is real :)
The whole site is being moved on to the new vBulletin Gold, which has just ben released.
So there should be no more of the recent bug problems... plus there are new features to play with.
It will all look very different, and take a bit of getting used to, but I think it will be a great improvement.
If you want a preview, the new software is here:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/
This will be tweaked some for CF, but you can see the basic features. :)

I think that user numbers have gone down largely due to the site problems.. people can't be bothered if it takes 10 tries to load each page!
But I hope that people will return once everything is running smothly again. :)

Yup, I'm afraid this is true.
Real avatars are not to be kept like they are right now, because the LivingAvatar is a merge of the dollies and the avatars. You will have to make a choice between having a dolly or having your own custom avatar.
If you want to have more images that represent yourself you can add some pictures in your Members Album, which has expanded functionality.
As to perks... you can look at the new system here:

:)
It will take some getting used to, but it's very good!

It won't look like that...that's just the basic look so you can see the features.
There is a whole new look specifically for CF2... which I think you will like.
Change is always hard to get used to, tho. :)

Oh, it's going to be Internet Infidels's style of forum~I agree with HD. Don't mind a new coat of paint once in a while but I'll miss the old place. I'm at a few other forums and always liked this layout the best.
Need more candy for the customers I suppose...

More a case of needing something that doesn't fall over every five minutes! :D

Believe it or not, I've stayed here thru alot of crap becuz I preferred this layout & format style...
going to those stuffy clostrophobic, funky [drab] colored boards is what I was trying to avoid.
I'll miss this terribly - probly more than anything
:sigh:

:amen: this is too true :swoon:
well we have no choice -- it's a shame they couldn't keep this layout style with the openness - it's also what kept the site unique from all the others.
I'll quit pouting and get over it sometime today.

It is unique~at least I've not stumbled across it anywhere. I'm at BaptistBoards and MennoDiscuss and while great places the layout isn't as nice as this.
Though as Criada says, maybe there is a reason others aren't using this style~can't remember when I've ever had to deal with "bugs" at the other two sites, but then they don't have the traffic of this one either.
