I know mine is The prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. well at least one of mine is . it goes like this:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so
much seek to be consoled, as to console; to
be understood, as to understand; to be loved,
as to love. For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and
it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

O worship the King, all glorious above

Joy to the World!

In Bread we bring you Lord, our bodies Labour

Bind us together Lord

Freely, Freely

And did those feet, in ancient time

From heaven you came, helpless babe

Thine be the glory

God forgave my sin in Jesus name

O, Jesus, I have promised

Soul of my Saviour

O, Lord, my God, when i in awesome wonder...

Old rugged Cross

I really like

"For All the Saints" and
"Immaculate Mary."

I tend to like the older music, circa late 1800s.

My favorite prayer is the Ave Maria, just for its honest devotion and simplicity.

By St. Francis de Sales

O my God....I thank you and I praise you for accomplishing your holy and all-lovable will without any regard for mine. With my whole heart, in spite of my heart, do I receive this cross I feared so much! It is the cross of Your choice, the cross of Your love. I venerate it; nor for anything in the world would I wish that it had not come, since You willed it. I keep it with gratitude and with joy, as I do everything that comes from Your hand; and I shall strive to carry it without letting it drag, with all the respect and all the affection which Your works deserve. AMEN.

St. Augustine of Hippo

I came to You late, O Beauty so ancient and new. I came to love You late. You were within me and I was outside where I rushed about wildly searching for You like some monster loose in Your beautiful world. You were with me but I was not with You. You called me, You shouted to me, You wrapped me in Your Splendour, You broke past my deafness, You bathed me in Your Light, You sent my blindness reeling. You gave out such a delightful fragrance and I drew it in and came breathing hard after You. I tasted, and it made me hunger and thirst; You touched me, and I burned to know Your Peace.

In hymns I really like "O Come O Come Emanuel," "O Lord who throughout these forty days," "Christ the Lord is Risen Today," "Were you there when they Crucified my Lord," "Immaculate Mary," "Hail Holy Queen," and "O Salutoris Hostia."

As far as prayers go, I love the psalms, especially psalm 51 and psalm 27. I also like the Canticle of Zechariah (the Benedictus) and the Canticle of Mary (the Magnificat). As far as other more traditional prayers I like the "Hail Mary," "Our Father," and "Glory Be." I know they're really simple, but these three prayers have really helped me a lot recently. I also really like the Sign of the Cross. It's a really powerful prayer that I don't think a lot of people really appreciate enough.

There's also the "Hail Holy Queen," "Memorare," the prayer of St. Ignatius Loyola, the Jesus prayer, and Acts of faith, hope, love, and contrition that I really like.

Llena eres de Gracia

Ahora y siempre por los siglos de los siglos,

This my favorite prayer:

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother! To thee I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Also one of my favorites!:thumbsup:

Absolutely tops for me is Divine Mercy...

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity of Your dearly Beloved Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.....For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have Mercy on us and on the whole world....Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have Mercy on us and on the whole world! - From the Diary of St. Faustina

It reminds me always that the only thing of value we have to offer to the Father is the very gift He gave to us. His Son, born, crucified and risen.

My favourite prayer is the Salve Regina. I also really like the Lesson and Collect from Compline - I like all of Compline, actually.

Fratres : Sóbrii estóte, et vigiláte : quia adversarius vester diábolus tamquam leo rúgiens circuit, quærens quem dévoret : cui resístite fortes in fide. Tu autem, Dómine, miserére nobis.
R. Deo grátias.

Brethren, be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour; whom resist ye, stedfast in the Faith. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us.
R. Thanks be to God.

R. Amen.

Let us pray.Visit, we beseech thee, O Lord, this habitation, and drive far from it all the snares of the enemy: let thy holy Angels dwell herein, to preserve us in peace; and may thy blessing be upon us evermore. Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord. Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.
R. Amen.

My two favourite hymns are Dies Irae and Jam Lucis:

Dies irae, dies illa
solvet saeclum in favilla,
teste David cum Sybilla.

Quantus tremor est futurus,
quando judex est venturus,
cuncta stricte discussurus.

Tuba mirum spargens sonum
per sepulchra regionum,
coget omnes ante thronum.

Mors stupebit et natura,
cum resurget creatura,
judicanti responsura.

Liber scriptus proferetur,
in quo totum continetur,
unde mundus judicetur.

Judex ergo cum sedebit,
quidquid latet apparebit,
nil inultum remanebit.

Quid sum miser tunc dicturus?
Quem patronum rogaturus,
cum vix justus sit securus?

Rex tremendae majestatis,
qui salvandos salvas gratis,
salva me, fons pietatis.

Recordare Jesu pie,
quod sum causa tuae viae,
ne me perdas illa die.

Quaerens me sedisti lassus,
redemisti crucem passus,
tantus labor non sit cassus.

Juste judex ultionis,
donum fac remissionis
ante diem rationis.

Ingemisco tanquam reus,
culpa rubet vultus meus,
supplicanti parce, Deus.

Qui Mariam absolvisti,
et latronem exaudisti,
mihi quoque spem dedisti.

Preces meae non sunt dignae,
sed tu, bonus, fac benigne,
ne perenni cremer igne.

Inter oves locum praesta,
et ab hoedis me sequestra,
statuens in parte dextra.

Confutatis maledictis,
flammis acribus addictis,
voca me cum benedictis.

Oro supplex et acclinis,
cor contritum quasi cinis,
gere curam mei finis.

Lacrimosa dies illa,
qua resurget ex favilla

Judicandus homo reus -
Huic ergo parce, Deus.

Pie Jesu Domine,
dona eis requiem.

Amen.

-----------------------
The day of wrath, that day
which will reduce the world to ashes,
as foretold by David and the Sybil.

What terror there will be,
when the Lord will come
to judge all rigorously!

The trumpet, scattering a wondrous sound
among the graves of all the lands,
will assemble all before the Throne.

Death and Nature will be astounded
when they see a creature rise again
to answer to the Judge.

The book will be brought forth
in which all deeds are noted,
for which humanity will answer.

When the judge will be seated,
all that is hidden will appear,
and nothing will go unpunished.

Alas, what will I then say?
To what advocate shall I appeal,
when even the just tremble?

O king of redoutable majesty,
who freely saves the elect,
save me, o fount of piety!

Remember, merciful Jesus,
that I am the cause of your journey,
do not lose me on that day.

You wearied yourself in finding me.
You have redeemed me through the cross.
Let not such great efforts be in vain.

O judge of vengeance, justly
make a gift of your forgiveness
before the day of reckoning.

I lament like a guilty one.
My faults cause me to blush,
I beg you, spare me.

You who have absolved Mary,
and have heard the thief's prayer,
have also given me hope.

My prayers are not worthy,
but you, o Good One, please grant freely
that I do not burn in the eternal fire.

Give me a place among the sheep,
separate me from the goats
by placing me at your right.

Having destroyed the accursed,
condemned them to the fierce flames,
Count me among the blessed.

I prostrate myself, supplicating,
my heart in ashes, repentant;
take good care of my last moment!

That tearful day,
when from the ashes shall rise again

sinful man to be judged.
Therefore pardon him, o God.

Merciful Lord Jesus,
give them rest.

Amen.

Jam lucis orto sídere,
Deum precémur súpplices,
Ut in diúrnis áctibus
Nos servet a nocéntibus.

Linguam refrénans témperet,
Ne litis horror ínsonet :
Visum fovéndo cóntegat,
Ne vanitátes háuriat.

Sint pura cordis íntima,
Absístat et vecórdia :
Carnis terat supérbiam
Potus cibíque párcitas.

Ut cum dies abscésserit,
Noctémque sors redúxerit,
Mundi per abstinéntiam
Ipsi canámus glóriam.

Deo Patri sit glória,
Ejúsque soli Fílio,
Cum Spíritu Paráclito,
Nunc, et per omne sæculum. Amen.

Now doth the sun ascend the sky,
And wake creation with its ray,
Keep us from sin, O Lord most high,
Through all the actions of the day.

Curb thou for us the unruly tongue;
Teach us the way of peace to prize;
And close our eyes against the throng
Of earth's absorbing vanities.

Oh, may our hearts be pure within,
No cherish'd madness vex the soul;
May abstinence the flesh restrain,
And its rebellious pride control.

So when the evening stars appear,
And in their train the darkness bring;
May we, O Lord, with conscience clear,
Our praise to thy pure glory sing.

To God the Father, glory be,
And to his sole-begotten Son,
Glory, O Holy Ghost, to thee,
While everlasting ages run. Amen.

Ok one more. It's not Catholic.:eek:

John Wesley's Covenant prayer.

I am no longer my own, but yours.
Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will;
Put me to doing; put me to suffering;
Let me be employed for you or laid aside for you,
Exalted for you, or brought low for you;

Let me be full, let me be empty;
Let me have all things, let me have nothing;
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal.

And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
You are mine and I am yours. So be it.

And the covenant made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.
Amen.

Favorite prayer: I would have to say the Lord's prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven;
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come thy will be done;
On earth as it is in heaven;
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses;
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And deliver us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
AMEN

Hymns ...

Immaculate Mary
Faith of Our Fathers
Amazing Grace (makes me cry all the time thinking how far God has brought me)
Ave Maria

My favorite prayer is one I say daily ever since it was given to me in the form of a small plaque 25 years ago by my parish just before my High School Graduation mass ...

"Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that You and I together can't handle."

At the time I rolled my eyes at the gift. Later that year when packing my suitcase to leave for basic training, my eyes fixed on it and it's message. I was scared. I took that plaque with me to basic and felt a peace with seeing it daily. It went with me after that to every duty station I was assigned. After 16 years in the Navy I finally got out, but that same little plaque is still with me. Today it's hung on the wall as you enter/leave my apartment. Sitting below is a holy water dish to bless my daughter and I as we say it upon leaving for work and school daily. It's simple ... but it's truth. As long as we have our Lord with us daily, there truly is NOTHING we cannot handle!

I believe there are so many powerful prayers. The two that tie for my top spot are the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Rosary: Everyone knows this!

Divine Mercy: A- Apostles Creed, Our Father, Hail Mary. L- For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, A- Have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Repeated on the 'Hail Mary' beads of the rosary) L- Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dealy beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, A- In attonement for our sins and those of the whole world. (Repeated on the 'Our Father' beads of the Rosary) Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the world x3 (Said at end of all)

So beautiful and need in our world today. God bless.
