The word sounds like "shy."

I often hear it put together with names.
such as "shy yeshua
or "shy Isha"

does this mean anything? Thanks!

I think, you mean 'shai'?

Shai means 'gift' as in the name Yishai (a couple of friend of mines name) this in English is Jesse, as in King Davids father.

Yi stands for G-d and shai, gift., so this name would mean G-ds gift.

Where and what context did you hear this?
