Irrefutable Facts of the King James Bible
Below is from an article written by George H. Anderson Jr – I usually don’t cut and paste other people’s work but I thought he did a good job and agree. Your thoughts?
1. ALL of the ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS to the Bible are LOST!
2. The Major Battle over which WORDS "belong" in the Bible has taken place in the New Testament Text. (As opposed to the Old Testament)
3. The Major Battle over which MANUSCRIPTS are to be "trusted" has taken place over the known New Testament Manuscripts. (As opposed to the known Old Testament Manuscripts)
4. From 100 A.D. to 1611 A.D. There were fewer than ten (10) Bibles in English. (partial or complete)
5. From A.D. 1611 - first printing of the AUTHORIZED VERSION [A.V.] (Now known as The King James Bible) - until 1881 individuals made a few new translations, usually unhappy with the A.V. 1611, and without any success.
6. From 1881 to the present day - NEARLY ONE (1) NEW TRANSLATION PER YEAR has come off the presses, again without much lasting success.
7. Nearly all the "new" Translations are based on just a FEW, A VERY FEW, MANUSCRIPTS: (Vaticanus & Sinaiticus - Primary "Authorities")
8. The many GREEK TEXTS for the "new" Translations are different from the GREEK TEXT of the A.V. 1611 in over 5000 places!
9. ALL the GREEK TEXTS for the "new" Translations are derived from and modeled after the Westcott and Hort GREEK TEXT.
10. The vast majority of the "Textual Critics" and "Biblical Scholars" subscribe, at least in part, to the complex Westcott and Hort Textual "THEORY".
11. Most of the "critics" and "scholars" embrace Griesbach’s elaborate Manuscript FAMILIES "HYPOTHESIS".
12. Most of the "new" Translations DIFFER from the A.V. 1611 in as many as 5000 places in the New Testament alone!
13. ALL The "new" Translations are ALIKE, that is they RESEMBLE EACH OTHER in contrast to the A.V. 1611, King James Bible.

One thing I noticed that seems to be missing is reference to the Alexandrian scripts, those are where the majority of newer translations come from along with another that I cannot remember its name at this moment......

My thought is that "different" does not necessarily mean "worse". When there are two versions of a manuscript, to assert that one is better than the other because the other is different is begging the question. Also, I'd point out that modern KJV's are substantially different from the 1611; for instance, they're several books shorter!

Compliled by Trosclair and castellaw.
Here is a list of more than 400 words, verses or parts of verses of the King James Bible that have been omitted, changed or inserted in the new versions.Nice work - but can they see CLEARLY - do they want to see CLEARLY?
Yes, Very sad that so many cannot see it and don't want to see it.
A blind man could see what is going on here.
Thanks for the post - I've copied it for future use.
God bless

One thing I noticed that seems to be missing is reference to the Alexandrian scripts, those are where the majority of newer translations come from along with another that I cannot remember its name at this moment......
You are absolutley right - nice observation.

I think we need a KJV only forum, this is an issue that has divided us already. What do others think of the idea of making a KJV baptist forum? I am not asking in an official manner, just curious.
If that's not an atractive alternative, then how about answering my questions in the other threads on this issue.

Please, lets not create more little ghettos for members with particular opinions!

You are right. But I think I'll find another forum until the current trend passes.

Mike,
I hate to see you find another forum. This place is for all Baptist, regardless if your KJV only or not. I really like your posts, and hope to see some good threads starting from you.

but how can we feel that this forum is for "all baptists" when people here are telling us we don't read/study the real Word of God? if it is not of God, by inference, it is of satan. that is very hard to me to take---the precious Word of God itself is being attacked. i don't like the idea of sub-dividing any further, but i doubt that i will ever have total comfort here knowing how so many kjv-ers here feel.
i realized that i feel more attacked here than in any other other forum at cf i've posted in, including obob! at least over in obob i'm merely "separated brethren," rather than a person who "clearly won't see" that my "bible" is not of God.

I think that it was stated in this thread that KJV only belive that one can get saved by these other translations. This means, that the Gospel is in some of these translations if not all of them. I am a KJV only, and I rely on that as my truth and my final authority. That does not mean that YOU are blind because you read a differant bible. We just disagree with what bible we are reading. Because most translations do have the gospels in them, which is what leads a person to Christ, saying that they are not at all God's word is not correct. I usually say that they are watered down my the translators. I don't think and I hope that no one else thinks that anyone who uses any other bible is sinning. This is not what we believe kayanne.
Your not being attacked! You are a good godly woman who just so happenes to read a differant bible. So we differ in that area, I am sure there is more than we agree on that what we don't agree on.
Just wanted to spead some love around this forum. It seems to have alot of tension today.

Frankly, I get sick and tired of being a "heretic" for not being a Calvinist, and accused of liking a "wrong" Bible -which has not been proved at all!
I like it better when the PRE was for all Protestants, then one group, like the Calvinists or KJVonly folks, don't have quite the divisive effect that they have in a smaller forum.

"by these other translations"
But the point is - it is not the Bible that saves you - it is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We are washed clean by the blood of the Lamb. People were saved before the KJV ever existed. People were saved without any written word in their hands at all. Because they were saved by grace through faith in the gospel they heard spoken by mouth and were saved by the washing of regeneration done by the Holy Spirit.
This is my main concern about KJVonlyers - it appears that you put the KJV on a equal level with God and the Holy Spirit and Christ....as if it is worshipped.

Noooooo I do not, worship the bible however I do hlod Gods Word so dear to my heart and meditate upon it daily as we are instructed to do. We are saved by the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ which is contained in most translations. I agree, there were people who were saved by the Gospel. I am not worshipping a book, I just prefer it and think its the best translation that is all.

I know you are not worshipping a book.
But I must point out that I and others who are not KJV onlyers also hold God's Word dear to our hearts and meditate on it daily.

I'm interested in which version of the KJV do KJV-onlyists believe is the best version. The original 1611 with Apocrypha, or post 1825 without Apocrypha, and why? One of my favorite subjects is the history of the English Bible translations. I'd never heard of KJV-onlyers before I came to CF (I grew up a Baptist). Not trying to stir up debate, just curious.

OK guys ... these sort of debates are getting us no where fast. We already have another thread about the KJV issue. Lets not open multiple thread on the same thing.
Thread closed.
