US archaeologists bridge Israeli-Arab gap (http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull&cid=1207649974692)

A vision not a plan, this three year in the making agreement in this document by the Israeli-Palestinian Archeology Working Group was unveiled before a conference attended by 50 Israeli archaeologists and government officials last week in Jerusalem. Brokered by US Archeologist's at UCLA and USC.

The accord was received with a mixture of hope and skepticism.
The agreement is based on the return of archaeological relics to their place of origin, wither on the Israeli side or Palestinian side of a future border.

Ok, I can see from a soceital standpoint some merit to this. However, what if they artifacts were more specific to one culture or another. For instance, lets say an anciet torah scroll or shofar was discovered in palastinian control land, or a prayerrug or scimatar on the isreali side. Who should be the rightful owners of those artifacts?

Frankly as a student of history, it would be a crying shame to let the palestinians have their hands on anything of historical value until they grow up and stop using innocent children as weapons of war.

True, very true and how can we trust them to hand over anything that verify's our two temples or any of our Kings? Think of how many things they threw out as so much trash that is still being sifted through. It's the lack of respect that I think will daunt this en devour before it begins.
