How much non-SDA reading material do you incorporate into your study life? How much do you think that type of reading material colors your perception on religious issues? Have you found that doing this gives you a more rounder idea of the subject matter? Just wondering. I read both, and trust the Holy Spirit to interpret and show me the truth.

I try to be willing to read anything within reason, but always using the Bible as the ultimate guide. I read EGW but as for non SDA, I read Philip Yancey, Max Lucado, C.S. Lewis, and Oswald Chambers to name a few.

I have listened to the dramatized version of Pilgrim's Progress on CD. You would not believe how many applications to daily life are contained in it.
Awesome!!!
Personally, I favor the Old English version - it is not hard to catch on to what they are saying, but there are newer modern English versions available.

I have been reading "The Purpose Driven Life" and doing the journal that goes with it.
I don't agree with everything that Rick Warren says in the book, but the overall message (it's not about "me", it's about God) is bang on!
It's been very edifying.
