This evening we have eaten our Passover with Zak. It seemed like a good idea beforehand;)
Well, his face turned a picture when he tried a bit of the Horseradish sauce, he kept say yak, yak, and shaking his head - it was very funny:D
He missed his blessing because he wouldnt sit still, and because its our first Passover and we were doing it from a book!
He thought the candles were birthday candles and kept trying to blow them out, and nearly got burned in the process, but thankfully didnt.
Steven read him the story of the exodus from his childrens bible which he liked.
Never mind, next year he'll be a bit older and hopefully sit on a chair for more than 2 minutes.
So blessings for all those who are including and encouraging their little one to participate:thumbsup:

Do you mean to say that candle are not there to be blown out??
My one year old will be devastated to find that out.

What fun! It seems when they're that young all they remember is how long it took. (Seems to be husbands memory as well. )
This is the first year my children somewhat remember having done Passover before. They remember the part about hiding the affikomen. ^_^

For tonight we have a three year old, but tomorrow for the 2nd seder she will be 4! We will also have a 2 year old both nights. :)
Given past years experience we have opted to go with some rather cheesy placemats rather than using my nice table cloth. Having one place setting go crashing to the ground can be fixed - having several go at once..... well it gets messy pretty quick and grape juice/wine is so hard to get out of guests clothing.....
Hopefully when they go to open the door tonight for Elijah they will follow directions and go to the front door and not the back door - other wise Elijah and Zachariah will both come in! And while I'm sure they would be happy to join us for a meal, I'm not so sure the guests would feel comfortable with a couple of big dogs roaming around.

Hehe, this sounds like so much fun! :)
I remember doing seders with little ones, and they made it all something to remember each year!
My "second parents" at shul had their grandson over one year they invited me to their seder, and when he looked for Elijah he went to the front door, called out "Elijah!! Elijah?? Where are you?" and then came back and said "I guess he got lost and had to ask for directions... maybe he'll be late!" :D
My little one wasn't 100% cooperative tonight. He let me eat dinner and get through 90% of the seder, but when it came time for the Hillel sandwich, wouldn't let me eat one more bite. . . I was soooooooo uncomfortable...
