Shalom Steve, the first night to celebrate Passover is the end of the 14th which would be right after the end of Shabbat for you. That is when the first Seder is held. The second one is the following day, which is the first day of Unleavened bread and is a Shabbat also.

Seek and ye shall...get more confused.
Lulav, what do you mean by the 14th? Today is the 17th.

Also, you have the seder BEFORE the feast of unleavened bread? Does that mean the Seder dinner is to be this Saturday evening? I thought the Seder was to FOLLOW the feast of unleavened bread.

Can somebody please map out specifics for me including DO THIS and DON'T EAT LEAVEN here?

For example:
Saturday 19th:?
Sunday 20th?
Monday 21st?
Tuesday 22nd
Wednesday 23rd
Thursday 24th
Friday 25th
Saturday 26th
Sunday 27th

...ah...I think I may be on to something.

Moses and the Hebrews ate of the lamb and THEN exited Egypt. Yeshua ate the passover meal and THEN was crucified. Is it possible that we are to eat the meal FIRST and THEN enter a week of unleavened bread? I can be so dense! It just seemed logical to me to be prayerful and deprived of leaven first and then celebrate with a meal.

I still don't know exactly when to do what though and is there any kind of ceremonious end to Passover?

It's so hard when there's no real life guidance! :sigh: I'm so thankful for all of you and that no one has yet made fun of me!

First seder is Saturday night after shabbas; second is Sunday night
Check a local Hebrew calander for times....

Hebrew calander vs gregorian.

Pesach runs 8 days so from this Sat PM until Sun PM April 27.
No chametz during that time.
First two and last two days are treated like shabbat with
differences in cooking, carrying and what is mukzah.
The intermediate days- chol hamoed- are basically normal
days with a couple of exceptions-but I don't know if
messinaics observe it.
Don't forget counting of Omer starts April 21.

And the first seder is the one to have if you aren't having two?

The first seder is for Passover, the second is for the Feast of Unleavened bread which last 7 days. So there are a total of 8 days without leaven - and the whole time is commonly referred to as Passover. Also during this time is counting of the omer (count down to Shavout - Penetcost) and the Feast of First Fruits (resurrection day).

One is better than none but two are better than one. :)

Saturday 19th:? this night is Passover, 1st seder
Sunday 20th? this night is Unleavended bread, 2nd seder
Monday 21st? eat no leavening
Tuesday 22ndeat no leavening
Wednesday 23rdeat no leavening
Thursday 24theat no leavening
Friday 25theat no leavening
Saturday 26theat no leavening
Sunday 27theat no leavening ( this is feast of first fruits when the barley was brought in, it is also resurection day, but don't get confused, we will talk about that later. But you can now resume eating leavened bread

I'm sorry, thinking Hebrew cal here, Ok, this coming Shabbat at the end of the Shabbat which will be on our regular calendar, the 20th of April that is when Pasach starts. It is actually then the end of the 14th of Aviv/Nisan and this was when the Passover lambs were slaughtered starting around 3pm;) So by the time you got your lamb slaughtered and returned to your dwelling that is when you had your Seder, and by then it was probably sundown and the beginning of unleavened bread ( the 15th of NisanAviv or today it would be the 20th of april) , so you ate them together.

Now most Rabbinic Jews will stop eating any chometz by noon tomorrow, but unleavened officially according to the Torah doesn't start until Saturday night. So don't get to confused. And don't worry we all go through this every year because of the two different calendars.

actually we will be eating it Saturday for kiddush luncheon; I
don't have a calander in front of me but I think we have to be
done eating it by about 10:45am. Of course we have to be
very careful about any crumbs, which is why most people
flush them...

. So don't get to confused.
It definitely can be confusing for new comers...:confused::eek:
