Nope. I have only been annoyed by the JW that have done it, so don't plan on doing it. I have a big problem with interfering in someones life, whether it be selling products or eternal salvation.

Do you find you get adequate results? In my experience, this path hasnt' led to much more than ridicule. Curious to hear good results, if there are any!!!

Is this an Orthodox forum? It isn't, thank God...I may have to put up with Eastern Orthodox comments. ;)

The Church I belong to has grown from 23 to 120 in about 3 years. Not bad.
Does the Gospel interfere in peoples lifes or does it save people from sin? If you don't interfere by bring the Gospel (aka Good News) to the people, are you not following the command to 'go into all nations?' How can you be sure you're not 'luke warm' if you don't share the Gospel? (This is assuming by some of the posts that you don't.)

I think that door to door (what I call 'cold call witnessing') is very brave. I don't think that I could do it justice. Please tell us about your experiences, good and bad - and any tips you have for witnessing to strangers.

Let me set something straight before this gets out of hand. ANY faith can post here in fellowship, they just cannot debate. I see no debate going on here, and the snide remarks towards other faiths will cease as of now. I hope i Have made myself clear, and the rules more clear as well

Anyways, I usally stop people in the street. I simply ask them as if I can ask a difficult question, most agree. I then ask if you died today do you believe you'd go to heaven? Depending on the answer I then ask if they want to know what the Bible has to say on the subject. I never try to limit who or when I speak to someone, I just try to be useful to the Lord at all times.
A lot of the door to door is simply inviting people out to church, explaining what programs the church maybe running, etc. Not preachy or anything like that. After you hand them a tract/flyer/etc. you can gage if the person is going to listen to your question(s)...

I often ask folks if they have any spiritual beliefs, then listen closely to their replies. In general people will go on for a long time on that subject when you show (and truly have!) a genuine interest in their views. They also give many clues to how they formed their beliefs and opinions, and I often find many wide-open doors to present the gospel in such a discourse.
I try hard never to make light of what people believe, no matter how "out there" it may be. I present scripture pertinent to the salvation message and give it time to sink in, praying all the while! I also try hard not to get drawn into arguments, but simply endeavor to show them Christ, that HE may draw them!
Oh, to be like Him! How many weary babes would then see the brightly lit path that leads home!
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32

One person listening is an adequate result. The bible says that Gods word never returns void. People might not get saved then and there, but so many hear the message whether they just hear Jesus as they walk pass, read a trac or actually stand and talk to us for an hour. It might be just a seed, or a water, but God can work with that. If we don't preach, people can not find the Lord.
How many times did you hear the gospel before you accepted it? I know I heard it in the thousands, and so did many christians. What if one of those christians who mentioned the Lord stopped talking about him to the unsaved because the person they spoke to before you didn't get saved? Not being saved then and there, doesn't mean it isn't been used.
That said, sometimes people do get saved. They're searching and God brings them at just the right time when they are in the perfect place to accept Christ. They just needto talk to someone, but didn't have any christians who talk to them about God in their lives. Others are just searching and will stand there and talk to you for an hour. Sometimes we have to break off the conversation because we have partners and the like to get home to.
Yes, I do feel the results are adequate. Enormously so. Gods word doesn't return to him void, and sometimes he shows us.
