True or false?

Wow! It looks false, but scopes says it's true.

Cool picture, either way. That's one big fish!

There may be a problem with perspective - the boat is shown, according to the text, to be just .2 metres shorter than the shark/young whale etc. It would appear, however, that the fish is about twice the length of the boat! The photo link at the bottom of the page goes to a photo that makes this point very clearly - there cannot be just a .2 metre difference in size!

I don't know, the shadows seem correct, but my question is, who took the picture? the perspective looks to be from above and if that's the case, from the angle that this is over water that would be from a plane or high helicopter which would invalidate their non disturbance clause of using the kayak in the first place.

It's a GWS. I saw it on discovery. The guy wasn't hurt and it's not a recurrent thing like some stories make it out to be.

It's a GWS.

Of course, if knew what one of them actually is I might agree (or not)!!!

Oh, I think I know, I thought and I think you thought she was commenting on the picture and if it was real, but she was saying its a

I think it is a cool picture either way....maybe the
shark is following the kayak because it is confused
and thinks the kayak is it's beshert.....they are kind of the
size and shape...

That's true, it may be out of curiosity, it doesn't seem to be stalking. Neat picture, glad I wasn't there! :D

Look again at the picture via the link at the bottom of the page. If the boat is 3.8m and the fish is 4m (info gathered from main photo) there is a real problem - it cannot be so - the fish is almost twice the length of the boat!!! Ergo, a rigged picture!

I agree, it sure looks like a great white. I haven't gone back in the water since Jaws came out! The closest I've got is beneath them as they swam over me at Sea World.

Reb, I don't understand metric , first off but you are saying that the shark was twice the size of the kiyak, so what's the problem? the do get very large.

Average kayak, 14-15 feet long so his must have been a smaller version.

Great white sharks -The white shark is also commonly known as the great white shark. It is a solitary predator that can grow up to 6.6 meters (21 feet) in length

Lulav, many years ago in Daytona Beach Fl, someone set up a very large movie screen on the beach and showed the move “Jaws”. In order to watch the movie one had to sit at the water’s edge with your back to the ocean. lol

Dunt, dunt, dunt, dunt, dunt, dunt, dunt, Isn't that the most recognized movie theme ever?

Yikes! not me! the movie theater I worked at was unsafe enough! :D

Look at the main picture - the text at bottom right says that the boat is about 12 feet 10 inches and fish is 13 feet 2 inches - in other words, the first picture claims that there is no more than 4 inches difference between the size of the boat and the size of the fish!

NOW, bearing that in mind, look at the picture you see by clicking on the link word 'picture' towards the bottom of the page - look at the relative size of boat anf fish. There is absolutely no way that the two can be so similar in size.

If that cannot be seen can I come to America to sell glasses? I'd make a fortune!
