If everyone could pray for me, I am having carpal tunnel surgery on my right wrist on Good Friday. Once that wrist heals in about 4-6 weeks I will then have surgery on my left wrist. I will be off work for between 8-12 weeks.

It is outpatient surgery. I have been told I should be up and about that evening so I can make it to Lamentations. As for DL on Vicodin, here is hoping they give me something a bit stronger at first! :D

Well hopefully if they give you morphine that it doesn't do what it did to one of my friends... She was totally out of it, cursing and randomly shouting obscenities... pretty funny at the time... maybe not so appropriate in church...

A friend of mine who had it done said the pain killers they give you afterward are of the vicodin/percocet type and thus you are able to semi function the same day.

Thank you all for your prayers. And yes, Thekla, it is very important for me. I have been asking St. John of Damascus to pray for me for the past few months!

I know it will be a very easy surgery: it will take less than 10 minutes. HOWEVER, the rare cases of a mishap that were explained to me by my surgeon are quite scary. This is my painting hand we are talking about here.

You will be okay they have to tell you that for liability purposes Michael... Do not be scared God is with you and is in cotrol... When is the surgery?

Good Friday. I will be writing an icon of St. John of Damascus this week asking him to pray for me.

I will put you in DH prayer list...(if you do not mind a Greek priest praying for you...lol...just kidding....).It is a good day to have the surgery. Ask for our Lord who endured his passion to help you. I had a very serious surgery years ago, I was twenty, on Annunciation Day and I know Thetokos watched over me :).

Forgive me.

And Lord have mercy

The Three Hands Icon
I wish I had time to write that icon this week. I have to finish St. Gregory the Theologian and will start St. John of Damascus. I am not sure if I will be able to finish St. John or not. But the Three Hands icon is a good one to work on while my left hand is healing.

Why didn't I notice this thread earlier? I'm going to make sure my priest mentions you in the Prothesis and Entrance on Thursday.

And don't talk about beer. Being poor, it makes me sad... :( Unless you want to mail me some... ;)

Both actually. A kid on the spit sounds very good, but it's still six days to go...

I'll have the Ale NOW though.;)

The Fiancee and I are going to my favorite restaurant, Mallorca, on Pascha so I can order baby goat. It will be interesting having to eat left handed. As for India Pale Ale, I always have plenty of that in my fridge.

Typing with one hand here. The surgery went well, It took the anesthesia a few hours to completely wear off, which gave me enough time to get to the pharmacy toget the extra strength vicodin. zthr vic isnt touching the pain so now I am taking percocet, which isnt doing that much. I am about ready to try neurtontin. The Fiancee wouldnt let me go to church because she said I needed the rest. So I stayed home and watched the Pens game. What a game!!!
