It's videos like this that confirms why people laugh at us Christians. Why did this guy single out Oprah? Does he think she is any worse than, say, Jerry Springer?

I agree with the dude.
I always just loved Oprah, thought she was so kind and generous.and she certainly is,why not.....it's a tax write off.
I came to realize last year how enormous her power has become.she has the largest cult following in the world save for the Pope, and I think it's a toss up there.
during the last year (and I have watched her fairly frequently,so I have noticed)she has sllloooowwwly turned the focus of her shows to "spirituality" and our inner selves.
she seems to have an incredible influence over the uneducated,or the bored and under appreciated house wife types.and now the unhappy and dis-satisfied.
any book she suggests, and new way to be happy she promotes these people happily jump on.
if you stand back and look at her and her kingdom, it is getting kind of alarming.
she's now in politics, and new age gurus....what's next?
she just started out as a t v personality.

Just dipped in here - and having no idea who this woman is, would like to reassure those worried by her that any 'cult' is largely confined to the USA - which although important, is not the whole world. The Catholic Church, and Christianity in general, will still be bringing the Good News to the world when this woman and her TV show are one with Babylon.

Is she teaching anything substantively different from what millions of listeners hear from the likes of Robert Schuller, through his Crystal Cathedral Ministries and numerous books he has published? It seems they broadcast significantly similar teachings. Whatever theological indictments Keller wishes to bring against Oprah, they would apply equally to Schuller and his ilk.

you may be right,I'm just concerned with the platform Oprah has,she has so much influence over so many, many people.
and people trust her because she's been familiar to them for years, and well, she's Oprah.
Schuller is a weirdo where as Oprah is everyone's golden girl.

Wow that interviewee is just infuriating. Even if she doesn't believe what he's saying, it's clear from her facial expression and comments that she is refusing to listen to anything he says before his mouth even opens. She has this tolerating amusement on her face the entire time - grrr. I dont know enough on the argument here to know whether Keller is right or not (it seems he had good points), but they should choose someone more objective and not so condescending. I hate smugness
