Hello. glad to see you here. But I'm a sister, not a brother. If that's not a problem, I'll be happy to talk with ya anytime!

LOL no problem at all!

I'm a guy by the way.

Yeah, Plan 9, I remembered how I said that I wouldn't stop fellowship, and I wanted to make sure I didn't.

That's not something you would ever do by accident, and you sure wouldn't do it on purpose. You're welcome anytime! With bells on. :)

Speaking of which, I don't suppose you like the music of Ray Charles? My memorial thread is bombing Big Time. It's a another fine example of why I almost never start threads of any kind, but he was African Methodist Episcopal, and didn't know that until my cousin sent it to me with that part underlined. I belong to UMC church with a primarily black membership, but I couldn't be there to cry copiously along with everyone else. :sigh:

Actually, believe it or not, I have not heard more than a couple clips of his music.

But, I'll stimulate the thread by asking some questions.

Where is it?

hmmm...my friend Colabomb may be the only person who was stranded on a desert island for many years, his significant other a ball, and who, therefore, hasn't yet seen the film The Blues Brothers, You can rent that pretty cheap now, ya know. ;)

Right here in Wesley's Parish because he was AME.
Since I wrote my desperate appeal to you, two Catholics stopped by to post in it, so I feel better now. LOL

So, did you bring that ball home with you? ;)

Hey, the late great Cab Calloway is even in that film! It's a pretty funny film, too, (supposing you have a sense of humor like mine, of course), besides being a 101 blues education. :)

Thank you! Don't forget to feed dark_lite, while you're at it! rger that.

I gave him coffee too, I also went to the Catholic forum and handed out Hershey's and Cadbury eggs.

Yes, His name is willie. (I may have been on an island but I still know about copywrite laws) and he was a Soccerball.

I take it you are a Blues fan?

You see what would have happened if I had forgotton and said that he was some other kind of ball? You see? I was playing it safe. Is Willie doin' okay? Gettin' enough air, is he?

I take it you are a Blues fan?

Yes, since early childhood, but unknowingly because I loved to listen to my parents vinyl record of the opera Porgy and Bess by Gershwin and Gershwin.

Then I heard Ray Charles' "Hit the road, Jack" and Janis Joplin's blues-acid rock version of "Summertime" (a selection from Porgy and Bess), and I was hooked all over again. I've been kind of working backwards and forwards from there ever since. I'm not a big blues expert, or anything; I have a long way to go, really.

Twas a sad day....

Not big on the Blues myself. More of a Rock fan. Mostly Christian Rock, but I do venture into secular at times...

Of course Rock is a decendant of Blues.....
