I might go for a visit. Was in Vashon today, unfortunately I didn't get to see the monastery - it's 12 miles away on Morey Island, which is attached but a little too far to go on foot.

Quite impressive - they make coffee and tea that supposedly is the best in the northwest. :yum:

My husband and I actually stopped by there on our honeymoon. The monk we spoke to showed us around and was very gracious and wonderful. It's just a beautiful monastery.

Fr Paul made my chotki, and the Abbot Fr Tryphon is a nice fellow, I used to joke with him that he looked like Santa Claus only in black. Their coffee is the best around.
