Erwin, I have received two gifts from special items, and I hate to give either of these sweet members the impression that I like one gift more than the other, so what I was wondering is if it would be possible for us to display more than one special item at a time, please?
I wasn't going to ask, but today I gave a rose to a member because he seemed sad, never thinking he'd display it, only to see his rosary disappear, to be replaced by my small gift, and that just didn't seem right somehow. :blush:

There are currently a set number of icons allowed (I believe it's 7?); one from each group. It has been suggested that Erwin work it so that we are allowed to show any 7 we like, regardless of which group it comes from. Personally, I think this is a good idea. :)

However, cosnidering the range, it looks like there is some room in the 300 blessings area.

This was originally a PNG file sized 48x48. It has been reduced to 32x32 and converted to GIF format. I fiddled with a few pixels to make it sufficiently different. I didn't notice any specific copyright on the Fedora site that I got it from so it should be okay to use - especially if you continue to call it a fedora. The original is from http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2003-December/png00002.png

Not sure who wrote the disciptions on the items but I have noticed a few things that could be "corrected" such as this:

Samson was not a giant, he was a Nazarite whose strength was represented in his hair because of his Nazarite vow and obedience to it, which he lost due to the seduction of a heathen woman. I think whoever wrote this may have been thinking of Goliath? However that is not a sword that one should cherish on these boards I would suspect, as this was from an enemy of G-ds people.

Also the helmet section has a "Quilted hood" and the description is thus " A hood made of quilts". Ths is an inaccurate description. Having a degree in textiles I can tell you what a quilted hood is: a cap made of two pieces of material with some type of batting, or stuffing inside and all three layers are joined together by stitching, thus quilting it. It is not made of quilts as these would be bed coverings. This cap was used under a metal helmet or headpeice for protection of the metal rubbing against the head as well as to provide a "cushion" of protection, should a lance or sword pierce the armour. There were coats made the same way and wore under the mail or upper armour suit. This was for warmth as well as to protect from chaffing.

Also I asked somewhere ( can't find it now) that the price of the Shabbat setting be lowered so all MJ's and Jewish members can afford this, this is a weekly observance for us and 1000 is a little steep for many. Perhaps 300? Also it is not a "Complete Meal", but rather the three elements we must have for blessings of the Shabbat. Perhaps a better wording would be "Everything needed to usher in Shabbat".

Breastplate is ok - just trying ot get things situated based on 2 criteria:

1) logic and
2) availability - as you can only "equip" one item from each category - so one can't have say, Yosef's coat AND a tallit "equipped" (on display) at the same time if both are in the breastplate category......

Since the Tzitzit represent the Torah which IS Truth and the category is for the Belt of Truth - I figured that would allow the best usage....

But dear and precious lady - you worked the hardest at putting all these icons in usable form and slaved over not a few - you decision is final in my book :) :thumbsup:

:wave: It really isn't necessary to move the tallit -- no one seems to be having a problem with it, and as long as people know where to find it, it isn't a problem at all... and it will only cause more work for hakrev and LC. :sorry: Sorry, guys! Actually I had tried to add all of those items, but when I go to upload them it just says that they aren't gif files :( I can go switch them to Gif's though ;)

Hey Snowy -- you have to be really careful, but go to Google.com, type in what you are looking for and then select IMAGES instead of Web (which is automatic) just above where you type in your search.

I found a tiara that I think is not copyrighted -- at least it isn't, on the site the picture came from (the site no longer exists LOL, but I was able to copy the pic from google anyway.)
