Okay, these bugs have been going on and on and on. I've been completely kicked off the site numerous times this morning, cannot navigate between forums, cannot post without repeated clicks, cannot give reputation without numerous problems. I believe it would behoove you to at least give us a progress report. I can find no announcements from Administration and I think as a long time member and site supporter, its only fair to ask how long this will go on or what is being done in order to complete repairs. Thank you.

Amen, how hard is that?

Thanks, RD. That's my point. I have a very hard time understanding why a site of this size/stature cannot give the members at minimum an announcement as to what is happening here. I understand there are times when updates need to be done or there are software or mechanical failures, but come on . . . COMMUNICATE with the membership!!!!

Sorry if I offended anyone with this post.
OK, I went a bit too far. I'm just frustrated, that's all.
I'm not the only one who is and who wrote a comment like
I did here...
I didn't mean to be mean, but I don't understand some things...
Peace.

I am pretty frustrated myself. :( I've always tried to support and give the benefit of the doubt. I've had high hopes when LeeD purchased the site and rejoiced when we went back to the name Christian Forums. But, I just don't understand why Lee or someone with the Technical savvy needed can't at least let us know what is going on. I know we received a notice posted in each forum that the site will be undergoing numerous changes/upgrades in the near future, but my goodness, this is ridiculous! I've always known a site to make significant changes during a slow downtime, and make a change and see if there are any repercussions from it. If all goes well, proceed to the next. It's obvious the changes were not beneficial, and have many bugs. Why not restore a backup and go back to the way it was and try again, but in stages? Sure posts would be lost, but it would be better than this.
I'm pretty disappointed in the ownership communication and leadership (not leadership of the Admins) of this site. :( We deserve to be kept abreast of what is happening. As Valentine said, it would behoove you to do so. If not, I'd almost venture you'll lose quite a few site supporters. I know a few already.

I don't know where Lee is, but he's really absent from this board...
:help:
this is what bothers me. The absenteism. At least Erwin did communicate.

All of us like CF so much, that is why we are still here. If I were new I would not be here now. I know this site has so much potential when it works right. We all need some support and information from the people who do the site reporting of problems. I feel like I'm stressed out from this.

I just ran across this in one of the announcement threads:
A Bit of 411 from another thread.

Okay here's the deal as far as I know. With the updates we're planning for the site, it means overhauling alot of coding and upgrading. Since this site is as HUGE as it is this means taking the time to plan every little detail out so that nothing is lost or crashes and we have to start the whole site over again (I don't think we want all our posts going bye bye).
Only about 2 or 3 SA's can really do this type of upgrading to the site. And it takes hours to find the right coding, re-write coding to make sure it fits to Lee's specifics (though SA's have given ALOT of input on them as well) and what we know members want too, and make sure it'll actually work before bringing it to the site.
Now do this repeatedly with ALOT of new updates---yes we have alot of wonderful things planned. So it takes time and energy and all we can ask is that you not hate Staff (particularly SA's who honestly can't do much at all) and have patience--- I can't do any modding at this point because I can barely load 2 pages every few minutes, let alone do any work for the Angel ministry or send pms to my friends or post in member forums.
I think one of the reasons we're having so many problems is because we've already updated parts of the servers, but we're using poorly written coding. But it makes no sense to spend time trying to re-write bad coding when we're trying to focus on writing new coding to make the site even better. Right? :)
So please have patience with this site--- we're here as a community and I know we all just want this site to be up and running normally so we can converse. I'm sorry we can't offer any more updates on stuff, but really we don't know any more about the situation--- we just know where we are in the process, but we're not sure about a time table yet.
If any of you want to privately vent your frustrations, feel free to fill up my inbox (no pm's will be reported for vulgar language or flaming, I promise lol).

I'm delighted to get an announcement from Administration, however, I'm not at all pleased that it took so many posts from membership before some communication FINALLY came from Staff. I believe we deserve to be kept in the loop a little better in the future. I also believe we deserve to be told when progress is made OR in the alternative, when things are not so progressive. Please remember that Christian Forums is what it is because of the membership. I love the forum and enjoy my time here immensely, however, I'd love it more if I felt more a part of what happens. IE, COMMUNICATE to the people.

Here's an idea. Why don't all the site supporters not pay or withdraw their financial support and maybe that will get the ball rolling. It is nuts that it has come to this.

This is great, however, when does the person and I mean person(1) works on the coding and all. I do not feel Lee has all the help like Erwin did. If it is one person then we may NEVER get this site back and to all visitors who are reading....I would not join right away. Why join a site that has NO communication from the owner/adm. and seems NOT to care about it. You can nnot do anything
Now the pets are suffering. It takes so long to try to feed your pet to keep them healthy. Just tried to buy food for mine. Had to click 3-4 times then end up with 3 of the items. This is really the worde this place has ever been.

As much frustration as this situation causes, I would not withdraw my support at this time. I'm a member of another forum to whom I pay support and it too suffers with technical problems from time to time . . . AND it is quite expensive to fix these problems. I'm sure the technical people have to paid and there are fees and costs associated with equipment. My only beef is not being informed. Repairs take time and I'm sure with people not being able to log on that the normal cash flow is suffering. I feel certain that the owner of the site is frustrated and is incurring abnormal costs. I just feel he needs to communicate with those of us who enjoy the site and pay fees to be members.

Does this site make money the ads for all the clicks it gets? Just a thought. If so........Lee would be in no hurry to fix it if he is getting paid.

There is an announcement out from MNphysicist regarding this situation and I believe they've hired on extra help.

For those who reported me, I edited my post.
You were right to report me because it is true that I went too, too far in my comments.
Please forgive me as I spoke (wrote) without love and with much judgement in my heart. It wasn't right.
God bless all of you.
