Reading an article regarding Mattityahu 18:18. It mentions that the ideas in this verse are related to the Jewish application of prohibition and permission (as bind and loose are mistranslated in the author's opinion) in leadership having authority from God to decide halakhah. In verse 18-20 the Messiah is said in the article to transfer power from the rabbis to his talmidim (disciples). He states because the Messianics and Gentiles have made little use of it does not change what it is (the usual application being that where two or three believers pray together in His name, God listens)...
I don't get it... I get what he says is being cast aside, but the other stuff (primarily the halakhah thing) I don't get.... How would we use this? What does it mean in a larger context?
