I have a quick question I hope isn't mocked. I honestly do not know the answer to, and hope for some insite.
I affirm the Apostles Creed. Something just crossed my mind however. The Creed states " Maker of Heaven and Earth" when mentioning the Father. However, wasn't everything created through the Son, the Word? How do I wrap my head around this? I never thought ofthis until now.
Thanks

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one. In Genesis it states God created....and in John:
John 1:1-5
It states that through Him, but it states that directly after saying that the Word was God. It is commonly used to say Christ was the creator, but if you read the language used I think it shows that He was present and was a part of creating, and that it was necessary, not that He was the sole creator. Since the Godhead is a Trinity we end up with things that are hard to wrap our minds around, this is one of them.

I heard this once, "God created, through the Holy Spirit (Gen 1:2, the Spirit of God brooded over the face of the waters), by means of the Word ("God said. . .).

Well, if Jesus and the Father are one, that isn't a problem.

I always assumed that God the Father created everything, or that the Trinity did it together.
