When the servers went wonky on Saturday there have been major bugs with people trying to post , pm, collect blessings from their cf job, just do a lot of stuff and they aren't fixed yet and we haven't been told anything as to when there might be a possible solution. There are supposed to be upgrades in a few weeks but its looking like this may last until then because nothing is really being fixed. And what's worse the techs aren't communicating and we kept getting shoved off onto threads that simply say there is a bug and nothing more.

The communication had better shape up.

This is the worst I have ever seen CF. Why don't they just shut it down for a week the way they did 2 years ago after the upgrades and save us this misery?

While I wouldn't like not being able to fellowship with my friends at CF - I think that Dawn's suggestion has a lot of merit and should seriously be considered.

As it stands right now frustrations are growing exponentially and CF will lose members who may well not come back.

Better to cut the losses now, deal with the situation and start fresh when everything is fixed.

It should only take a day for all the new upgrades to be implemented.

But the only word we've gotten is that they will be updated in a COUPLE OF WEEKS. Why should we have to put up with this mess simply because no one can get ahold of the supposed techs. Get Lee on the ball and get him on the phone or something with these people!

And why trash and lock the rest of the threads? Can you not deal with the logical reaction to this sill mess in any other way than closing threads and trashing them?

That's what you said on Sunday after CF came back online. That was 5 days ago. :)

So the upgrades are in two weeks but will only take a day -- and we'll have two weeks (plus a day) to deal with this mess??

Mrs.Sidhe

I'm not trying to give them a hard time. I just want someone to give us some information.

I know mnphysicist has spoken to Lee on the phone before -- someone should be able to call the man, if he won't answer emails or PMs, and at the very least give the members a status update of what the heck is going on.

information keeps changing....

Please do not give them a hard time. If you do, then, they will shut the whole forum down. Things are manageable, and I like to play Suduko too.

There are a couple ways around it. 1) Post an X quickly. This will bring the post to the top before the timestamp has time to change. Then, go back and edit the X. 2) Type your post in Word, then, paste and post quickly. Same deal.

I am sure they are fixing things as quickly as possible. I think it is awful that people are beating them up about this.

I, for one, am not quite so willing to give them the benefit of the doubt at this point. It's been almost a week now and there's been no change, no communication except "be patient." Well, we've been patient for about 6 days now. I think that at the least they owe us an explanation of what's going on and how much longer we can expect this to last. Yes, it's manageable, but it's annoying and it looks really bad that nobody seems to be doing anything to improve the situation.

They need to close it till things are fixed. There are other places to play Sudoku. I can PM you the links if you want.

I don't know anyone who is having fun with it. I know lots who are trying to make the best of a bad situation, though.

Because the database error will be harder to fix with the site "hot," and take more time to repair. With the database static, the error can be identified more easily and repaired, and the site can be restored quickly.

Because I know a lot of people including staff members are getting fed up with this.

To me this just speaks to how unprofessional Lee is. I mean when there where other changes that people blew up about he doesn't think to answer to the membership. Then other staff members who dislike people challenging what they say or want close threads. This is all too ridiculous.

I mean nothing can be fixed until the site is taken off line. It just seems to me to be the right thing to do.

*Nods* I have noticed this too, but believe me this is heaven compared to how it's been the last week or so. Can I just say thank you again to the techs who fixed everything up?

Hopefully this minor problem of the CF clock being an hour ahead will be an easy one to fix...

I didn't see a status update. I just got the "you could not be connected to christianforums.com. yada. yada. yada." message.

I saw that and then several times got a message that they were making the corrections and doing the update.

Did they do the update though? Looks the same to me and I understood that things would look different.
