They (in the announcements) said CF was going to have a major update/overhaul very soon and that it would be offline for a while.
I think that was it.

I don't see anything changed either.
Maybe they were fixing past things or preparing for new updates.
I don't know which or if it had to do with either.
We will see.

It wasn't caused by the upgrade because that hasn't yet begun. :)

Thanks for the link to that thread. But I think it would be helpful for that announcement to show up at the top of all the forums so everyone can see it. I went looking for an announcement about the outage and could not find it until I found this thread.
Also, don't hold your breath on people not reporting bugs in the Bug Report forum...

 There are still kinks to work out after the Server Malfunction. Hopefully everything will be squared away in a few days :) Please be patient, as today is Easter Sunday. As you may notice, when I post, they are out of order also ;)

They (the bugs now cropping up relevant to posts getting lost in the archives and etc..) are probably related to the database being either confused by conflicting data (which may be due to the upgrade of forum software), or simply because of the database server scheme the forum uses.
Look at the post before yours.

All the bugs have nothing to do with the update/overhaul. Apparently it has to do with a server crash unrelated to the update. I don't know how long the troubles will last.

I don't need to, I've experienced this same problem in the past. It can be caused by any number of issues.
