How unbelievably ugly CF2 is. Makes the appeal markedly less.

TomUK

I quite like the colours but it just looks so basic. Old CF was infuriatingly cluttered but at least it was distincitive.

Hi!
I just stopped by for a drink and a break from working in my studio and was shocked by all the changes! I put my character back in its old form-the new is too much for me at the moment. Hope everyone is having a good evening and remembering thier mothers this weekend (at least those in the US). ;) My daughter comes home from college tomorrow so that's my biggest gift.

Great to see that our beloved CF has taken another small step towards normaility again (or as close to it as we ever get here:D:D:D):clap::clap::clap:

A lovely late spring day here today (so far)

Sadly I have to be at work all day (such is life I guess)

Still, just today and tomorrow to do, then I have (in effect) 5 days off:clap::clap::clap:. No overtime to do this week:)

Anyway, hope you have a wonderful and blessed day:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Hey Karen!

Is your character in Berlin?

I have no idea!
There are a few places that have needle-like buildings like that - Seattle, Liverpool, ...

Congrats to Laura on the new job, btw...if you happen to bump into here. I read that at "Reilly's".
Laura got a new job?

karen freeinchristman
15th May 2008, 04:06 PM
Actually the picture in my avatar has got to be Liverpool. I can make out both the Anglican Cathedral AND the Roman Catholic Cathedral, in addition to the needle-tower building.

I can't find the whole view from the same angle, but here are the bits, separately:

the needle-shaped building and the waterfront/ferry (http://www.maddiedigital.co.uk/USERIMAGES/waterfront.jpg) (needle building is located up behind the ferry)

the Roman Catholic Cathedral (http://www.freefoto.com/images/1023/01/1023_01_2---Metropolitan-Cathedral-of-Christ-the-King--Liverpool_web.jpg)

the Anglican Cathedral (http://www.nikkis.org.uk/shipcanal/index_files/image016.jpg) with the RC cathedral to the left

karen freeinchristman
15th May 2008, 04:12 PM
Actually, I'm amazed, because with this view, it means my character is standing on the opposite side of the river, which is actually where I live! :O

Ah. Abouna Samaan. Yes, I know about that. Yes, it's sad, but to be honest with you, there's some major political shakeup going on in Egypt at the moment--it'll be very interesting to see what happpens there. Just popping to say hello to you all here...

I'm not on CF much as I completely disagree with the changes at this site--in my opinion they are completely against Christ and his message. But that's just me and I better stop now before I got carted off and silenced. I would appreciate those of you who are for these changes will at least allow me the ability to nicely disagree and not feel the need to report me.

Anyway I'll be around just not to much..

 's for you all.

just remember that no matter how much CF changes, we'll all still be here. The powers that be seem to have tried there best to destroy this site but it's our fellowship that makes it great.

Yep, CF is a speck of what it used to be. It's still the biggest and most diverse Christian forum on the internet. Sadly Lee has a monopoly. If all the cool people leave (ie you) ythen we're just giving him even more opportunity t warp this site from what it's can so easily be like.

Posted in one of the announcements threads this morning. Copied it to my blog for anyone who wants to read it.

It had to be said, but it won't be read. That was the great thing about Erwin being a part of the forum and one of the biggest problems with CF at the moment - in order to lead a community you need to be part of it.

Except for the fact that every time Erwin made changes it was after at least 6 months away from the forums when he had no sense of how to run things. Erwin was a poor leader at best, Lee is a businessman not even a leader at best.

'allo, 'allo!

I'm having a good day - got a lot done so far: laundry (1 load, washed and hung out, and another load in); counted all the Christian Aid money ready to take to the bank; did some de-cluttering (much needed) in my bedroom; ate some lovely pasta with pesto for lunch... :yum:; finished the intercessions for tomorrow's church.

DH and DS are in Liverpool today visiting the Ark Royal, which is in port for four days. It's open to the public today. (not really my thing, nor my daughter's thing, so we've stayed home).

The alehouse goes through random phases, sometimes it's really busy and then other times it's dead for ages.

One of the problems here is that it's such a huge site that there are many areas which can go for quite a while without anyone posting. Other areas are completely rammed.

Well hate to break up the hug fest and happy dance about the stupid faith icons being back I just wanted to say that because of Lee's newest post about his "vision" I will no longer be coming to CF at all. I won't lie and say I've had lots of fun here because I haven't though I have treasured some members here and their contributions and hope we can speak either in email or IM's or on other boards.

Feel free to look a the post and rejoyce! I'm sure that will happen.

I want to reiterate my vision for CF, something the staff and advisors have been working hard to implement in these recent weeks. I am weary with how CF has become a place of debating, strife, and infighting. My vision, simply put, is for CF to be a place for Christians to fellowship online, a hangout so to speak. While I would encourage sincere non-Christians to participate in some areas of the community, our focus is becoming much more inward focused, centering around the body of Christ which involves prayer, encouragement, edification, sharing burdens, and always forbearing one another in love. Those who want to endlessly debate against Christianity or promote other faiths than Christianity might find other boards more to their liking as CF probably won't be much "fun" for you any more. I hope this helps some to see the direction of where CF is headed.

http://christianforums.com/showpost.php?p=47885292&postcount=68

Andy Broadley
27th July 2008, 03:23 PM
This will be my final post on CF, at least until such times as there are substantial changes to this place and CF can once be considered to be a Christian site, which at the moment it patently is not.

I have made my home at www.Christianfunforums.com (http://www.christianfunforums.com/) where we now have a thriving Reilly's, which is considerably busier than here.

Be great to see you over there :)

God Bless you all. I desperately fear for the future of CF. It says at the top of the page "Where 2 or 3 are gathered"

The way things are going and the rate people are either leaving or being driven out, that will be all there ARE on CF

I have given 4 years of my life to this place and it breaks my heart to feel that I no longer have a home here, but any site that has Pagans and Satanists in senior staff positions, where anything of a conservative Christian nature is supressed...can no longer be considered a fellowship of Christians.

However, at CFF I have found the same spirit of Christian love and sgaring that existed here 4 years ago when I joined. It is a Christian site, run for Christians, BY Christians. While still a small site, it is strong and growing, whilst CF withers on the vine and must surely soon die. A great many CF folk have now also found their way to CFF and more are arriving daily.

So farewell my dear friends. I have have been given great friendship, support and love in my time here and I will miss you all greatly. I hope that I will see many of you on CFF :):wave:
