View Full Version : When applying for staff, which team.....

I am considering applying and am unsure "which team" to apply for. A present staff advised me "pick people you can work with". Well, I can work with anybody. I know some staffers but not others. I guess my major concern would be which forums I would volunteer to moderate: does it matter which team you are on regarding that? I understand only the top brass deals with appeals and the like, no problem with that. Any suggestions as to how to proceed if I do it are appreciated. Thanks.

The forums you want to moderate no longer dictate which team you apply for. The one suggestion I have is to look at how many people are on each team and not pick one that has a lot of people. There's only supposed to be a set amount per team, though I don't recall at the moment what that amount is.

Thanks, CG. If the teams and forums are not congruent then what is the structure of the teams? Is it just some new management style where people with different functions have one boss, but some people with the same function have another, and so on?

Something like that. This same team structure was in place awhile back, like 2005 I think, then they switched to the "if you work on this team, you work in these forums" structure, then switched back to the old style a couple of months ago. I think it was so mods would have the freedom to work all over the board instead of stuck in one section and having to cross team lines if they wanted to mod other sections. I'm sure somebody else can explain it much better than I can though LOL

Okay, thanks. I submitted an app and noted which forums I'd prefer to moderate at first if selected.
