I had not been in CF for more than 6 months. I notice a drop in membership in this place, a severe drop. I used to post in the conservative forums when it first started. After that, my life was busy and I dropped off CF. Can someone update me as to what had happened in CF since the time it changed it name to foru.ms until now, when the name is changed back again to christianforums.com.

Err... I'll get back to you later... could take some time!

If you look in the Announcements area you'll find a lot of old threads which may help... don't try to read them all unless you're free until Christmas, tho!

In a nutshell, it's probably closer now to what it was before all the changes... it has all been somewhat circular!

Not that hard: first a bunch of the conservatives left because they didn't like the changes Doc Erwin instituted, then a bunch of liberals left because it changed back to the way it was before, that happened after Doc Erwin sold CF to someone else. I think that sums it up. :)

 Hey sis!

Who left CF recently?Recently? I'm not sure, I know I haven't seen Ohioprof in a couple of weeks and quite a few of my LDS friends have moved on, the non-Christian section is feeling a little empty and there are a few others that I haven't seen for a while. :(
tulc(who's buddy list has become a rollcall of the departed in itself) :sigh:

Thing is, I can't lie: am pleased that CF has stopped being what it was for a while... but it's horrible that people have left. Don't like the idea of people feeling like they don't belong, or fit in n stuff. Feels very, very bad to have family in Christ feel that way :(

I don't know how we're making such a mess of this. Can you believe how much we hurt each other?

Today, I found out that in schools - English ones, anyway - that Easter holiday is now officially "Spring Holiday"... like they're trying to take Jesus out of the equation. We have enough on our plates without hurting one another :(

We must to fix, and to love. Lots and lots.

Erwin sold the site to LeeD.

Wikis ended. There was much rejoicing.

Then folks realized that they no longer had as much say in policy. There was much gnashing of teeth. DR was reformatted to try to keep the best of both worlds.

Staff was reorganized. Instead of having area-specific teams (all mods on a team working Theology, or Debate, or Ministry), staff could work one forum in Theology, and one in Ministry, and two in Congregational.

Appeals changed to private suggestions/complaints, looked at by the Reconciliation Team (RT). Recently this has changed so that appeals are done as they were before, and complaints/suggestions are still reviewed by the RT.

The Nicene Creed was reinstated as a rule of doctrine (but icons were left alone). The promotion of non-Nicene doctrine was prohibited. Many people asked for clarification on this. Non-Nicene Christians were disallowed from having a congregational forum. The Unorthodox Theology forum was reinstated.

Non-Christian mods were asked to mod in areas other than Congregational and Theology. They were absorbed into other areas of the site.

Speaking from experiance :sorry: the reporting systen works really well. I was reported once (ok, more than that:P ) but being able to access the report thread alone~and not have it out for public view~is a good way to do it:thumbsup:
