(I will make a valiant effort to contribute to the discussion this week, but can't promise anything ;))

*note: I include these readings simply because I know there are some that prefer to have a weekly "New Testament" reading. However, any discussion that takes place here will probably have more to do with the actual Parsha than anything else. ;)

1st portion, Seems that the levites weren't happy with their lot, what the L-RD had choosen them for. How many today are like this? They wanted the highest position. I think this leads into Y'shua's teaching of the disciple not being above his master nor the servant above his lord. But also his example of washing their feet.

Now Dathan and Abiram show hardness of heart, stubourness of the worst kind, even with threats they won't be moved.

I think with the censers this was likened to prayers. Whose prayers or petitions would be heard before the mighty Judge of the earth, who was asking in righteousness and who was asking in selfishness.

Korah showed his cockiness by asking all to watch for he thought he was in the right and would be proved right over Moshe and Aaron by the L-RD. IN dong this he almost caused the death of many others. But his opinion of himself covered good judgement and I am sure in the few seconds he had he realized this.

This also paints a portion to me about HaSatan who wants the "head postion" and has estimeed himself so high he can't see his downfall but he doesn't care who he takes with him for the few moments of glory he fells he has in front of them.
