Basicall, the scoop is this. I wish to start a topic on the 1811 Earthquakes on the New Madrid Fault System and the possibility for a recurrence, however I am not sure which forum to put it in as there really does not seem to be a spot for general science subjects.

um.. you're right. Usually these type of topics will go into the forum that the poster frequents, which should be more lax in terms of particular topics fitting into particular forums.

some forums this might fit in would be:
Outdoor and Nature
Teens
Men's corner
History

The Creation-Evolution fora are science fora and often contain subjects such as eathquakes. For instance, I participated in a global warming thread in the open forum because I had some information of the possible effects of volcanoes. Those are the two fora I would choose. All science subjects are pretty popular there. :)

You also might check out the regional threads, like the Southeast. I've seen people discuss things like native plantlife and things like that. Or maybe you could suggest a General Science Forum (free from the drama of the C vs E argument). But as of now, the best place would probably be the Outdoors/Nature forum.

Hey Redneck! I LOVE earthquakes! Seismology was part of my major in college. (And I have a 'Visit New Madrid While It's Still There' tee-shirt. ;) ) I was looking around for a place to post about earthquakes, too. Actually, I was wondering if the Storm Chasers would be interested in having that forum opened up as an Earth Science forum so it could accomodate topics like meteorology, astronomy, geology, etc. If Erwin's open to the idea, maybe we could ask the storm chasers...

I was thinking exactly the same thing... why not post and ask them, and then PM me with the result. :) I can make the change to the title easily.

A general sciences forum would be a good thing, because there is so much more to science then evolution and creationism. Just my two cents.

Well not only carnivorous plants, there would be some other more intereresting things (however I doubt that anything is more interesting then CPs exists ;) ) in there too.
