Thanks for posting sharing that WesleyJohn.

Which version of the Apostles Creed is that? I haven't seen it before. Do you know who edited it?

Don't know who edited it, but it's the exact same one that we use during our sermons. There are different versions?

You can see how it usually looks here. These Creeds are historic and usually look the same between all denominations. Creeds are something that can be adjusted on a whim. Once they are altered, they aren't what they once were. They can have asterisks on them for notes, but to change the wording seems really problematic.

I saw a third version at a SNU site.

Thanks for the link...I've only just recently memorized the one we recite. We said it occassionally in my last church (UMC) but I don't remember the exact wording.

Aww :) Don't feel bad. I love reading your sermons, WJ. It's really interesting because we've been studying the Articles of Faith during our Wednesday night service, so all this stuff is fresh in my mind. And I love the way you explain these things...you're so informative. ;)

I look forward to your sermons being posted too. We may have been discussing the Creed, but it didn't come till the end of your sermon ;)

If the Creed was not originally written in English, wouldn't it make sense that there would be different translations of it (just as there are different translations of the Bible)? If that is the case, different wording would not necessarily be an issue as long as it was true to the original language.
