Buddy / Friends Lists

What exactly is the difference in the buddy and friends list? I added someone as a buddy but how do you get them on your friends list? Thanks in advance; I know the answers on here I just cant find it! lol.....;)

Buddy's are the people you have added. If they add you onto their buddy list as well you become 'friends'
