Ed Kilbourne

Just curious if anybody's ever heard of Ed Kilbourn.

I saw him back around 1985 or '86 when I was a Methodist at a big Methodist youth retreat at the Jersey Shore (I think Ocean City but I could be wrong).

Had his albums and loved them but lost them over the years.

He always reminded me a little of Steve Goodman in his singing style.

Heard of him, and love him.


Here's his website: http://www.edkilbourne.com/. He looks a little different than when I first saw him 20+ years ago, but he's still touring.

Even more than his music, I love his storytelling. I've stolen more than one of two of them over the years for illustrations in my sermons -- like the one about his teenage friend who wosrhipped a pick-up truck. But what is really great is that when Ed tells them, the way he weaves them with his music, you really have the sense that you are hearing parables the way Jesus himself might tell them in our contemporary culture.
