Pro-Palestinian graffiti written in Arabic has been found scrawled inside the cargo hold of an El Al plane during unloading at Milan's Malpensa airport, raising Israeli concerns about Italian airport security. "It was something like 'Long Live Palestine',"... "It has happened once before."...

Cargo handling seems to be the weak link in all airport
security.
I am surprised that this happened with El Al though-
they have the toughest security in the world.
Just what I don't need to think of is this security breach
as I board an El Al plane next Tuesday :(

As my grandmother always said, "Go in peace and come home in peace." She actually said it in Yiddish and I'm not exactly sure how to transliterate it, but have a wonderful and safe trip!:)

I know exactly what you mean.
DH and I sat in our plane in Berlin (from Zürich) and watched the handlers unload the bags and various items from the cargo as we were told to remain seated as they hooked us up to the terminal.
The things I saw... I swear it's a wonder any of us had luggage left!
The men noticed that so many of us were watching in horror, that two of them retreated into the cargo-hold to toss items out while the bulkier dude on the outside just gave us all dirty looks. (gee how mature!)
I wonder any more if people have pride in their work or not...and then you have crazies who have their own agenda and only work so they can push it :(

there was a reason we took a straight through flight from Newark to Tel Aviv..... fewer opportunities and fewer hands in the cargo hold and the passenger list.....

Oh, I have flown El Al many many times....partly because of the non-stop flight with the individual tv screens (relieves boredom:) )
but mostly for the security. They have the best in the world.
I love the security questions they end up asking you though...
what was the last Jewish holiday, how do you observe it...
how do you observe this or that holiday and what does it
mean.....all asked by totally secular screening agents :)
I especially like when they ask you to read off Hebrew letters
and name them....
They didn't used to go to that extreme, but now days
nothing is full proof....and they have to use extreme caution..
TSA is a joke....I have walked through (unintentionally) with
lotions, fluids over 3.5 oz, nail clippers and files...and they
were not found. I noticed them when I got to my destination...

May it be Your will, L-RD, our G-d and the G-d of our ancestors, that You lead us toward peace, guide our footsteps toward peace, and make us reach our desired destination for life, gladness, and peace. May You rescue us from the hand of every foe, ambush along the way, and from all manner of punishments that assemble to come to earth.
May You send blessing in our handiwork, and grant us grace, kindness, and mercy in Your eyes and in the eyes of all who see us. May You hear the sound of our humble request because You are G-d Who hears prayer requests. Blessed are You, Ad-nai, Who hears prayer.
Hear the prayer of these warriors - May their prayer be your prayer :) and their defense be your defense
