I got this from another forum, and thought it could be fun here.

Are you a sage, lover, mystic or prophet?

Take this test to find out! (http://www.upperroom.org/methodx/thelife/test.asp?act=test)

I got "sage".

I got mystic.

As a friend once told me, "If it wasn't for the internet you'd never leave your books."

You are a Sage, characterized by a thinking or head spirituality. You value responsibility, logic, and order. Maybe that's why you were voted "Most Dependable" by your high school classmates. Structure and organization are important to you. What would the world be like without you? Chaos, that's what! Your favorite words include should, ought, and be prepared. What makes you feel warm and fuzzy? Like Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof it's tradition! tradition! tradition!

Because you love words, written or spoken, you enjoy a good lecture, serious discussions, and theological reflection. Prayer for you usually is verbal. You thrive on activity and gatherings of people, such as study groups. Sages on retreat likely would fill every day with planned activities, leaving little time for silence or solitude.

We need Sages for your clear thinking and orderly ways. You pay attention to details that others overlook. Sages make contributions to education, publishing, and theology. You often are the ones who feel a duty to serve, give, care, and share with the rest of us. On the other hand, sometimes you seem unfeeling, too intellectual, or dry. Can you say "dogmatic"? You may need to experience the freedom of breaking a rule or two every now and then. G-d's grace covers Sages too, you know!

Suprise (not!)

You are a Mystic, known for your imaginative, intuitive spirituality. You value peace, harmony, and inner silence. Mystics are nurtured by walking alone in the woods or sitting quietly with a trusted friend. You may also enjoy poetry, meditation, wordless prayer, candles, art, books, and anything else that helps you connect with God. Mystics experience God best through rich images and symbols. You are contemplative, introspective, intuitive, and focused on an inner world as real to you as the exterior one. Hearing from God is more important to you than speaking to God. Others may attribute human characteristics to God, but you see God as ineffable, unnamable, and more vast than any known category. You are intrigued by God's mystery.
Mystics want to inspire and persuade others, and need to live lives of significance. At times you push the envelope of spirituality, helping the rest of us imagine who we might become if we followed your lead.
Sometimes you may feel a bit guilty about your need for solitude and silence. If so, you probably have bought into the American myth that says being alone and doing nothing is lazy, antisocial, and unproductive. Stop it -- now. Give yourself permission to retreat and be alone. It's essential for your well-being.
On the other hand, don't get so carried away retreating that you become a recluse. That only deprives the world of your gifts and deprives you of the lessons that come from being with others. Some Mystics may have a true vocation for solitary prayer, but the rest of you need to alternate retreat time with involvement and interaction.

It's amazing how spot on these things can be sometime. I got mystic and it couldn't fit me more!

LadyGarnet, if I had my way, I'd never leave my books either, unless it was to sit by some body of water (creek, river, ocean) to read or write my books.

Wish I'd have seen this before anyone posted, I think it would have been more fun to read the description of the four types and then guess what the members of this forum were from their posting style. :D

Before I take it, anyone want to guess mine? :)

Lulav, I'm going to guess "Sage". :D

Is there anything besides sage and mystic?

Thanks for that. I got Lover. I've printed it out to put in my bible so as to remind myself of my most negative attributes, and hopefully to be less like them!!!

You are a Lover, a feeling type, whose spirituality comes primarily from the heart or emotions. You value freedom, independence, and spontaneity. Along with your gift of enthusiasm, you show us how to have fun and appreciate beauty. More than any other type, you know how to experience joy. This puts you in a unique position to experience God in the moment, to revel in what is happening around you, and to be in the present tense. To Lovers, God is a nurturing parent. Prayer for you is often extemporaneous, speaking to God about what is on your heart at the moment. Music moves you deeply; so does heartfelt preaching and worship. You believe that real faith must be shared. Consequently, many Lovers are interested in missions or in spreading the Gospel through the media. You are passionate about holy living.
On the other hand, a Lover's impulsive behavior can get you in trouble. You sometimes focus on satisfying immediate desires to the detriment of investing in longer term needs. You have been known to exude a "holier-than-thou" attitude toward other spiritual types. That does not endear you to us. Guard against thinking that to be right everyone else must share a spiritual experience similar to yours. You also may need permission to acknowledge anger, disappointment, sadness, and doubt, and to allow yourself to be less than ideal.

Well, I'll be darned. I would have sworn I'd come out Mystic, being such a lover of nature & quiet,
but I came out Sage.

I had huge crush on Mr. Spock when I was thirteen, maybe that was indicative of something. :D

Oh, sorry folks, I'll take the test again and, if it still thinks I'm a prophet I'll copy it in a post.

You are a Prophet, a crusader with a kingdom spirituality. You experience God best through serving others. You value competence and knowledge, and are good at leading and influencing others. Prophets are devoted to their causes, often becoming assertive and aggressive as you implement a vision of the world as God's kingdom on earth. You are our heroic change agents and we admire you for that. Single-minded and deeply focused, you aren't content until society has been transformed.

Prophets are the least represented spiritual type in the general population. You also are the hardest spiritual type to be around, mainly because you make the rest of us feel guilty for not having the same zeal for change that you do. We admire you for sacrificing your personal life for your hope of the kingdom realized on earth, but we are uncomfortable around martyrs.
You have a courageous and sturdy idealism that takes responsibility for change. But, your passion for transforming society can lead you to become impatient with congregations and their perceived lack of concern. You fit best in a hospitable, like-minded community that shares your vision. Nevertheless, be careful not to become so involved in your cause that you neglect your inner life. Attend as much to your inner life as outer life. One will nourish the other.

Kris10leigh

HaReb, you may be the only one on the board, but those are certainly admirable traits to have. I think you are needed for your steadfast devotion. Be a proud prophet!

I struggle with this and it's not as many think, that you are given prophecies, but you are more intune with what G-d wants and are told to tell it like it is, but no one usually wants to hear that.

( you turn into Jack Nicolson in a few good men ;) )

I forgot about that line. I have been wondering why everyone seems to run to the other side of the room when I start towards them :sigh: You know it's really hard and it's not like I mean to do anything to anyone, I just would like a few friends.
