The first time I saw season 1 I had to remind myself that Tony Shalhoub wasn't really this guy, he nailed the role so well.

My grandpa is Monk! (minus the fantastic detective skills) OCD runs in the family.

Yes, huge fans here! Just can't figure out the season. Four episodes here, four episodes there...

They have two, one just ended, next part begins in the summer, can't wait, did you see the two part ending?

Yes! My husband and I thought it was the best episode yet! We DVRd it, so at the end of part 1, we went back to the beginning to see whether or not he had shot the gun. They did move the camera off Monk just prior to the shot.

I want Mr. Monk to find his next Trudy. :sigh:

I want Mr. Monk to find his next Trudy. :sigh: That is what made me a fan of this show, I have never seen a man portrayed with such love for his wife! It gives me hope, to me, even all his other foiblies, can be dealt with because there is such love.

It really got me in the end after they dragged him out of the car and then Lealand patted him and told him he did good saving the Governor and his wife, you could just tell he was thinking, 'I wish I could have done it for my wife'.

The writers are inconsistent in some things but they sure have that part down great!

One I can't stand though is Dale the whale, he is so evil! Both actors, doesn't matter, I just can't watch that part.

I also like Psych too, those two are hilarious, like watching two brothers, which I think I tend to like shows like that, Everybody loves Raymond, and Frasier, guess maybe cause I never had the pleasure as an only child. :)

Tish, were it not for the DVR, I'm sure I'd have given up TV too. ^_^ It changes the way you watch TV! It's on my time now. And for my children it is wonderful too. I can say "You're only allowed to watch 3 shows a day" and there's no argument because they can choose when. When I ask them to do a task, there's no argument because all they have to do is hit the pause button! And then I get to say, "When I was your age, there was no such thing as a pause button." :P

Lulav, I feel the same way about Monk and Trudy! He had such love for her and she was so incredibly patient with him! It breaks my heart when they have episodes like this one.

I don't like Dale the Whale either! He's obnoxious. And you just solved a debate between my DH and me. I win! He didn't remember there being a previous episode with him. I want to know how exactly you forget such an unforgettable character.

We watch psych also, though DH is more faithful to it than I am. Do you know Gus is "Bud" from "The Cosby Show"? I loved the episode about the haunted house because they kept calling him "Bud".

As for "Everybody Loves Raymond", my MIL takes pride in the fact that she is just like Ray's mother. And it's true! My husband, in a fit of anger one evening, told her that and she swelled up with pride! ^_^

All kinds of stuff to do here at the website (http://http://www.usanetwork.com/series/monk/)
That Randy's a pip! I can never figure out how he became a detective! :D

You can watch full version online from the site too!

Here's where (http://www.usanetwork.com/series/monk/theshow/dvd/dvd4.html) you can buy all 5 seasons on DVD, which is cool because my video store only has 2 seasons for rent, and I never did like Sharona. She's the trashiest nurse I've ever seen portrayed. ;)

I love Randy! And I think he's actually probably a great musician, because it's hard to play one that's bad. Does that make sense? You can see the talent under the oddball.

His main purpose as a character is to bounce technical jargon back at the audience. Like, "Randy, you should already know this...DOA means dead on arrival." That kind of thing, but bad example.

I liked Sharona, but I like Natalie much better. She's kind!

They have 6 seasons on DVD. ;)true enough ;) but the main reason we "gave up" TV is that we could not afford the satellite bill ;) step one in our austerity program ;)

I really ought to see if we can find the series on DVD here on sale so I can get caught up and watch it as it airs on the Pay tv.

I like Monk's new assistant, but I think Bitty Shramm was a better (more believable) assistant for Adrian. Maybe it's just me.
