We don't need a dozen TTFN threads, so maybe we can keep them corralled here.

I'll start.

I'm going to be gone for Great Lent. I'm supposed to be fasting from discussion boards on fasting days anyway: Since last week was Meatfare, I wasn't around much, only making a couple posts. This week begins Cheesefare, so I'll begin my full hiatus now. When I return, God willing, I will be a Baptized member of the Orthodox Church!

I wish everyone a blessed Lent.

Happy travels in Lent!
I'm planning on being here but a lot less than I have been... at least until early April. That's when hubs leaves again and I get lonely again and hang out a bit more... but even then I'm hoping to be around a bit less than normal. Until then we're both trying to cut down on internet time... :)
I'll be checking email and PMs!

After Forgiveness Sunday I plan on being here less. Whatever heresy comes up between now and then depends on how much.

I don't know exactly the rules (still need to sort it out with my SF) but it will most probably be me taking a hiatus too, unless I drop in on the weekends, maybe. When I come back, I'll be a member of the Church too - I'm getting baptised on Holy Saturday :)

I'll hang around, but not as much, until Sunday, then disappear.

I will not be posting on this forum for the month of Lent. I'm sorry to anyone I've ever hurt or offended. If you'd like to catch me, I'm on OrthodoxCircle:

What is the annual forgiveness thread? Is it made, like, on Saturday or something in order to avoid a flood of forgiveness threads this coming Sunday?

Yea, good question. I was wondering the same thing!

It is when we ask forgiveness from our brothers and sisters in TAW like we do in church &/or in our families on Forgiveness Sunday. You all know what Forgiveness Sunday is?

Forgiveness Sunday! Yay :)

I remember these threads from last year (this was about when I started seriously reading what you 'weird' people were posting), so it'll be wonderful to be part of it this year

Considering I haven't been around much for the last several weeks as it is and through Lent looks like it is going to be just as busy (if not more) I doubt I'll be posting much through Lent as well, I might come on now and then though. If all goes as planned though, I'm probably going to be entering the church at the end of Lent as well.

congrats and axios to you Proto, returning as "baptized" EO :)!!!!

And also, Proto, Happy B-Day to you :)

Also to Kyrie, Fuerein, and others who will be entering the Church :)

I will be around but less as we also have too many services for lent starting with the Akathist on Fridays.. a service we GOA celebrate for 5 Fridays... My daughter this year will be reading the prayer to the Theotokos in Greek... .Pray for us.. We will need it ... Our Bishop will be there too...
(we want news and pics, if you want, for the baptism/chrismations)
