Well done, WesleyJohn! :) I particularly appreciate the way you draw our understanding of the nature of God as Trinity into our practical, everyday lives. How true that we, as people who are made in the image of God and are being transformed by the Holy Spirit into the character of Christ, are to live in loving relationship with others. I don't think I ever connected our understanding of the Trinity with that before. Thanks!

Yes, please post any other messages you would like to on this series (or any others). What a blessing! :) Please know that as I post this, I am also praying that through the words you speak tomorrow, God's message of truth and transforming love will go straight to the hearts of the people who listen.

Could you post the 16 articles too? Some of us are too lazy to use Google.

I hadn't thought about all three persons of the Godhead being mentioned in Genesis. I had remembered the "Let us" portion, but all three are there. That's awesome. Thanks for posting it. I will look forward to more, if you will post them :)

Very nice! Yes, please post your remaining sermons. I would be interested in seeing how the UMC compares to the Church of the Nazarene in our doctrinal issues. I confess I don't know a whole lot about the Church of the Nazarene, so this will be a good way to help me learn.

I just had a comment about this statment:

The reality of the Doctrine of the Trinity is that while most of us are familiar with it, few of us could say that we really understand it.......Many analogies and pictures have been created in order to attempt to describe the Trinity, and yet most have some inherent weakness which causes them to fall short of their goal. No matter how we attempt to diagram, explain, or describe the Holy Trinity, we are using mere human constructs and finite limitations which cannot possibly do justice to the Nature of an infinite God. However, despite our human limitations, our task today is to embark upon a journey of discovery and explanation of the ways in which God has revealed Himself to the world.

A few years ago I was visiting in Gatlinsburg, TN on Trinity Sunday and I attended a UMC there. The pastor made a comment that has really stuck out in my mind regarding the Trinty that sorta is in line with the quote I took from your sermon. He said in a way he was glad he could not explain the Trinity completely. Because if he could, that would mean it was a idea that came from man and not from God. That because there was still some mystery to it and because we did not have the exact words to explain the entire concept of the Trinity, it just reinforced to him that the Trinity was of God and not some concept thought up by man.
