What would you all think of a new name for this forum? I have noticed that a lot of the other congregational forums have interesting names. I was thinking: "We put the FUN in Fundamentalism" or something along those lines, you know something to let me people know that while fundamentalists we are not stuffy, holier-than-thou, noses-in-the-air people :P

yes. and here is my suggestion:
FUNDIEVILLE. (or "fundie villiage", or some variant).
why?
#1. we are fundamentalists. we can allow it to be a derogatory term used AGAINST us, or we can choose to use it to unite us. i choose unity and builing each other up.
#2. we are a community. we all live in the same spiritual house, biblical worldview, and feed on the same meals - the Bread and Water and Wine of God. we are "family".
#3. it's humourous. again, we can choose to use "fundie" for or against us. humour is a healing balm of sorts... besides, some of us seem pretty wacky. :P :D
or is it just me? :sorry: :help:
….. speaking of which, how’s this for wacky?
“fundies from the blue lagoon”
“fundamentally fundamentalist”
“the fundy fun house”
“oh, fundies, just wanna have bible, whoa fundies just wanna have BIBLE we wanna, …. we wanna have BIBLE, fundies, we wanna have …oh, we really wanna, we really wanna…. We really wanna, we really wanna…. We really wanna, we really wanna, … oh fundies, just wanna have BIBLE!!!!” ;) ("girls just wanna have fun")
“fundies, fundies, fundies,… must be fundy…. In an ungodly world…. Wooahohohaaho, all the things that we do, when we are a little fundy, in an ungodly… world!” ("money money money")

You could write a really catchy forum theme on those lines.
"They're fun and they're mental - the fundamentalists" (Think of the Addams family tune)

It's time for Fun-da-maniacs
And we're zany to the max
So just sit back and relax
You'll laugh till you collapse
We're Fun-da-maniacs
Come join the Christian Forums
And the separate spots
Just for fun we run around the CF movie lot
They lock us in the tower whenever we get caught
But we break loose...
And then vamoose...
And now you know the plot
We're Fun-da-maniacs
Dot is cute and Yakko yaks
Wakko packs away the snacks
While Bill Clinton plays the sax
We're Fun-da-maniacs
Meet Pinky and the brain
Who want to rule the universe
Goodfeathers flock together,
Slappy wacks 'em with her purse
Buttons chases Mindy
While Rita sings a verse
The writers flipped
We have no script
Why bother to rehearse
We're Fun-da-maniacs
We have play for play contracts
We're zany to the max
There's baloney in our slacks
We're An-i-man-ee
Totally and zany
Here's the shows namey
Fun-da-maniacs
Those are the facts!

Back to Basics? :D
This phrase will be forever tainted in British minds by the "Back to Basics" campaign of the last Conservative Prime Minister, John Major. At the same time as telling people they should raise their moral standards a large number of cabinet members (including Major himself) were (or had been having) extra-marital affairs. "Back to Basics" became a by-word for hypocrisy.

who's Larry Norman? He was one of the first Christian rock musicians in the beginings of the Jesus Movement back in the early 70's. Check here: http://www.larrynorman.com/bio.html (http://www.larrynorman.com/bio.html) what's funny is if you listen to his stuff now he would be considered no where near Rock and Roll. I remember people really being upset with other Christians because they listened to Larry Norman. :sigh: The things we chose to get upset over. :sigh:
